We often see and hear the statement that Islam is a religion of peace and that most Muslims are peaceful. This often grates on many people who see very little being done by the adherents of that particular faith in combating the radicals amongst them. More often than not we get some representative with an Islamic background, whether that be a politician, an immigrant spokesperson or some other grouping that proceeds to tell us how peaceful they are and how they are being persecuted because ‘most’ Muslims are peaceful and then go on to play the “we are being persecuted” card. I was sent this link to a response made by a very elegant speaker who had the guts to stand up and say what she really thought when that same accusation and claim was put to the panel she was sitting on, I think that many people would agree wholeheartedly with her sentiments.
This woman speaks a lot of uncomfortable truths

Re: This woman speaks a lot of uncomfortable truths
I've listened to Ms Gabriel speak before. She is a strong dynamic speaker and isn't afraid of conventional PC etiquette.
Noni Darwish is a strong speaker re: issues & islam that has written some interesting books (Now they call me Infidel).
Ayaan Hirsi Ali is also a very strong woman writer who is critical of Islam and Muslims. She wrote a book that got a fatwa issued against her and "Hmmm" if my brain would kick into gear I'd think of the title. I read it .......and I can see the front cover of her book but just isn't coming to me right now......(darn - a senior moment)
Anyway - they are good speakers and are able to articulate well and I applaud them as women taking a stand and speaking up.
