Coming out of the musical closet!

Post by Goddess »

I'd like to blame my satellite dish going Kaput for this one!

I raise my hand and fess up to listening to really dodgy songs on the radio (and singing along to them)

So since I'm bored, and tv-less - I'm going to bore you all with the horrors of my musical tastes!

So!

My first confession:

I just sang along very loudly to The Pretenders - Back on the Chain Gang (and yes, I was the Oooh Aaah bit in the chorus!)

No! My dish isn't chuffin fixed. My new tactic is to sing so loudly and so out of tune that all the neighbours beg Mr G to get it fixed!

Hope they all appreciated my version of "I'm all out of love" by Air Supply!

Oh Mr G, we have one wish,
please go outside and fix your dish
For both my bloody ears are ringing
Listening to your Mr’s singing.
Her latest one by the Pretenders
Came right through my ear defenders.

:snig:

So you'll be appreciating "We built this city" by Airship then!?!?!?

(And I know I have horrible taste in music - and I don't give two monkeys right now!!)

I drew the line at Steve Forbert though, had to waste a skip on him!

Sadly I confess to agreeing with you Horus!!! By the time my dish actually gets fixed - it's quite possible that I'm going to be horrified by all the above!

I redeemed myself momentarily with Simple Minds.......

But now I feel like I have to make a stand in defense of Mr. Mister!!!!

Take these Broken Wings is an absolute cracker of a song!!! :)

Goddess you are obviously a child of the 80s :) by your musical tates, so here are a few more for you to sing to yourself :P only keep it down a bit

MIDGE URE , IF I WAS
JENNIFER RUSH, THE POWER OF LOVE
FEARGAL SHARKEY, A GOOD HEART
WHAM!, I`M YOUR MAN
WHITNEY HOUSTON, SAVING ALL MY LOVE FOR YOU
SHAKIN STEVENS, MERRY XMAS EVERYONE

I will draw the line at "There's no one quite like Grandad" by the St Winifreds Choir

Oh...well...you're on your own for this one.

Got any Journey in there?

Now you mention it - I did have a bit of Journey last night too!

....... But then I put the kybosh on my internet radio - so I've had to dig my Sting CD out of retirement, and having a bit of "synchronicity"

Trying to fix my radio now so I can go back to annoying the neighbours - Sting sings a bit high for me so I sound a bit screechy!

Today I discovered I still hate The Cure, and Depeche Mode ..... and then we had Midnight Oil "Beds are Burning" and now we're on a bit of a U2 fest.

Ewveryone likes U2 - so maybe I'm not as odd as I thought!

Still no progress on the chuffin satellite dish .... or the hoover!

Funny you should mention that BB - Had a bit of Adam Ant not ten minutes ago!

And Horus - your mention of Jennifer Rush made me suddenly wonder where my Kate Bush CD got too ... So we had a spot of Babooshka and Running up that hill earlier on! She's been sat in that box for quite a while, bless, felt sorry for her - and poor Peter Gabriel who was right there next to her!

I have discovered that there really are some nasty songs out there in the world ... and I love most of 'em!

At least I'm honest! You lot secretly sing all these under your collective breaths! ;)

Ooh Adam Ant, he was my favorite.
Another fave of mine was Terance Trent D'arby, I loooooved him. Anyway, he has now changed his name and is on facebook and he actually wrote me a message the other day warning me against having any yellow hash when I come to Egypt next time, how cool is that? (Ok so its a bit sad, but I was chuffed to bits, you do not know how much I really loved him when I was 17  )

If you start singing the remake of "Wild Thang", you know you've gone too far.

Not even going to attempt to write his new name on here, it is far too complicated. :?
