Emergency Vehicles

This morning I was heading out to do some last minute shopping before I head north to home. Anyway as I was coming up to a stop light controlled 4 way intersection I was the white flashing emergency alert flasher go off so I knew emergency vehicles would be arriving. Slowed down and stopped at the intersection.

I saw the Fire Chief vehicle come rushing up to the intersection and he took a yield to the right. Next came an Ambulance but it went straight through the intersection however I could see the guy sitting beside the driver gesture to the driver indicating that the Fire Chief turned right. Then a few cars later the Firetruck came rushing up and took a LEFT!!! OMG! It was like watching the Keystone Cops!

I did have to sit through another complete change of lights with the flasher and sirens still going cause in a few minutes the Ambulance that went straight came back through the intersection and headed back to where he came from.

I'm not sure the emergency was actually cancelled as none of the roads in the area looped back.

Just a crazy site to watch this morning.

Just been listening to the news from the UK apparently a man stole an ambulance from outside an hospital, he didn't get very far before he crashed it and was injured. Another ambulance had to attend and convey him to the hospital he had stolen the original vehicle from, think if it had been me I would have left him there and told him there were no ambulances left able to attend.

Nowadays sometimes I just sit watch and shake my head. Words escape me.
