Mr Nice, is a story of a man from a typical South Wales village, Kenfig Hill.
Famous only because of the Novel by the Lorna Doone Author R.D Blackmore, "The Maid of Sker".
Mr Nice was gifted academically and won a scholarship to Oxford university. That was probably a first for Kenfig in its entire history..
From the very first night at Oxford, things did not quite go to plan, and he took a completely different path than probably even he could not have for seen.
Mr Nice (pronounced Niece) was not his real name.
His real name was Dennis Howard Marks, although more famously known as Howard Marks.
The film captures the Atmosphere of the 60's and 70's really well, and will also remind you of some of the events going on in those times.
Rhys Ifans is outstanding in his portrayal of Howard Marks, and I get the feeling Howard Marks himself would agree.
This is an excellent film, and takes you though many memories and emotions as you follow his life.. Enjoy
There was an Article in the Times written about Egypt by Howard Marks, back in 2009, I cant find it anymore, it seems to have been removed..
and a NOT too tenuous link with Luxorfor..
