Well here are some little nuggets for you if you don't know.
6th October
6th October Bridge is the world's 11th longest road bridge at 20,500 metres long.
It bisects Cairo and is one of the main arteries connecting the city.
6th October is also the name of the new city South and West of Cairo in the new Governerate of 6th October, 10 mins from the Pyramids at Giza and stretches over 400 sq km in area.
Both are named after the Yom Kippur war in 1973 where Egypts military defeated the Israeli invasion of Sinai.
It was at one of the parades to celebrate this event on 6th October 1981, that President Anwar Sadat was assassinated .

26th July Bridge and Corridor (Mehwar)
This bridge connects Zamalek to Mohandseen.
The 26th July Corridor ( Mehwar ) starts in Zamalek and runs all the way to 6th October City and passes the Hyper One superstore and on it sits the Dar al Fouad Hospital amongst other things.
It is named after the date in 1952 when King Farouk abdicated and left for exile in Europe via the Port of Alexandria.

15th May
15th May bridge which is 2.5 km long connects, Mohandseen, Zamalek and Boulaq districts in Central Cairo.
15th May signifying the start of the 1948 Arab Isreali War.

10th of Ramadan
The 10th of Ramadan City is named after the 10th of the month of Ramadan in the Islamic calender which corresponds with the 6th October 1973 victory Yom Kippur War for Egypt in the Gregorian calender. In 1973 both dates were the same day.
