Sorry not to have commented sooner CC I have been away and missed this post
Anyway they are all great pictures Glad that you posted the Naos and the Solar Barque picture, I was about to post one myself.
Can you remember when the Solar barque used to sit in its own little side chapel and the Naos Shrine was clearly visible with a small alter block in front of it?
yes I remember horus I also remember being there with a guide who couldn't see into the sanctuary and was telling us all about the festival and how the barque was moved there just for the celebrations, he then decided to show us where it was around the back but when we got there we found it gone. He was extremely puzzled until I informed him that I had seen it minutes earlier in the sanctuary. He proceded to argue with me that it wasn't there until I dragged him back round and said "what is that then?" my friend was in hysterics and the guide was very red faced

I like the photograph of the Hippo cake that is what I really like about Edfu, it has some unusual stuff depicted on the walls. I like this one where Seth is depicted as a donkey being speared (shown below)
Yes Horus, its one of my favourites, I love following the story of Horus and Seth along the wall. Each time I visit I always find something new that I had previously missed.

this celebrates the festival of the beautiful meeting where Horus and Hathor get together each year. The boats are towed south against the current of the river but their sails are unfurled following the meeting as the sail north with the current.

The July/August competition generated a bit more interest and we had some good contributions, but one person stood out with a good group of pictures and some really interesting background information about Edfu temple, so this months winner is: CrazyCat so very well done :
Please keep your entries comming in for the next one and remember it's not all about the pictures, we want your interesting facts about the places as well.

I reckon its all over for him now, reports of seeing some military vehicles on the streets are filtering through and reports that he and his main players have been given a travel ban.
