Sushi lunch followed by a hair dresser day
Lovely photos of the daffodils Grandad. You're WAY advanced on us. My crocus are up but no flowers yet and the daffs are up but maybe only 4 - 5" high.

Re: What are you doing today?
Looks like rain for today, bright at times, but the skies look a bit heavy and a few spots when I let Annie out around the garden. The one good thing is that yesterday on my way back from shopping I saw green leaves on the hedgerow near the traffic lights. These are my Spring indicators and they are the earliest Hawthorns to burst into leaf each year, so I eagerly await the first splash of green on these few bushes. When I see them in leaf I consider that Spring has finally sprung and Winter is past, so lets hops so as it has been an awful wet and miserable one so far.

Re: What are you doing today?
We are getting the coldest nights of the winter with frosts in the morning. Around Christmas time night temperatures were never below 6 or 7.
Just had an email that the trail camera will be delivered today plus a 32gb card, try again
Got the Doc phoning after 10 so can't go far this morning but as the bright sunny start has now changed into dull and cloudy I am not too bothered.

Re: What are you doing today?
My new electric bed is coming this morning!
I have to nip out and get some money for the delivery man, I make it a practice to keep very little money in the house.
The last storms deposited what looks like fine sand over the windows, looks terrible.
At last we know how may people for our trip - 6 altogether. The other Granny, her daughter and grandchild are making their own way and meeting us there. So we are booking a smaller car which my daughter will feel more comfortable driving.
Knowing the Auntie I have a feeling of foreboding.........

At least she's not violent as far as I know, so not quite the Aunty from Hell - more like a manipulative 6 year old that's about 40 years old.

Re: What are you doing today?
My day has been spent tidying up all the small jobs which take time and preparation but are invisible to the naked eye!
My grandaughter is coming to sewing club with me on Monday and she has designed a tablemat that she wants to make. Yesterday I embroidered the flowers in the corners and subsequently found that one of my machines need to be looked at.
Not good in the light of me paying out £120 in September for it to be serviced! Anyway, booked to take it to the shop on Tuesday, but noticed a good deal on another machine at the same shop, so have provisionally reserved that one for a test drive while I'm there.
The other really terrific thing today is that I have made a pannetone in the new breadmaker, and the wonderful smell is driving me crazy! I'm really enjoying this new gadget and highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about buying one!

I do have a really good breadmaker stashed in the loft somewhere, problem is that I don't eat enough bread to justify using it

I understand what you're saying, Horus, but this one makes cakes too - and jam!
All in all, an everyday item.

Re: What are you doing today?
My bed is fabulous. Beautifully made, and it's possible to make it firmer or softer, which was a new idea for me. It has 5 moving sections, and made in England!
I think I shall be going to bed early whenever I can. Bliss!

Re: What are you doing today?
Not me, Horus! I think I shall stay in bed all day.
When I got up this morning I didn't stagger, just walked like a normal person, no lumbago just bliss.
Ok, ready for the cracks about taking water with it.
I am very grateful to my generous daughter, this will make a very big change in my life, I know. I've got various things wrong with my back that only management will help and the most important is the bed. My bed in Egypt was perfect, slatted boards with a fairly thin cotton mattress that was frequently turned so no dips and hollows. Interesting the manufacturers of this one recommend regular turning of the mattress, end to end as well as side to side. I love it, can you tell?

Re: What are you doing today?
@Jayway - wow - doesn't sound good at all. Is the hernia serious? I think having one could cause nausea. Is there a plan to fix it?
