This one was a lot smaller than the one I visited last week and comprised of a short stroll through some woodlands and then around a fishing pool, once again it was a bright but very cold day. The local bird life was preparing for the mating season and already the Mallards were pairing up, there were also lots of Squirrels running around and scratching about for Beech Nuts in the leaf litter. It always surprises me that as these are obviously very young Squirrels as to how they would know where the Autumn nuts are buried?
The lake has a small island and I was surprised to see another example of wicker work in the shape of a large fish on the island, how strange to see another example of this art form at a place some 30 miles from where I took last weeks photos.
We returned back to my house where I cooked us a cholesterol filled Brunch of Bacon, Eggs, Kidneys, Hash Browns, Pork Sausages, Mushrooms & Baked Beans washed down with a nice mug of Tea, just the ticket to warm you up again after a nice walk.
I also reminded her of the lovely dinner she had missed a while back because she had mixed her days up, a starter of Avocado Pear and mixed Olive salad, with fresh Nectarine slices and honey flavoured Greek Yoghurt as a desert. The main meal was to have been Rib Eye Steak and French Fries washed down with a nice bottle of Shiraz, most of it ended up in the bin!
