I'm delighted to see today my holiday pictures all made up onto a DVD by our very own Horus.
He has done a fantastic job in adding all photos, the transition between each photo is lovely, the music he chose & added to each day is perfect - excellent choices, titles & dates also added all makes a very happy viewing for me of my holiday to Rome with my brother David & will look over it with happiness for a long time to come.
Thank you so much Horus for a wonderful fantastic job you have done
If it is possible Horus perhaps can show you a clipping from the Dvd
You are most welcome Kiya I just wish I had more time to polish it a bit more. The hard copy disks are on their way to you tomorrow and they should display at a better quality on your TV set, I can see you now intercepting the postie and berating him if he has nothing for you I agree that it is a great way to display your memories and a nice bit of background music adds to the pleasure although I bet that the Pompeii clip made you jump out of your seat when it kicked in
As you know it is a pretty big file at over 200 MB and that is a problem displaying on here, I will have to see if I can make a reduced sample to post on here, so long as you are happy for me to do that?
Horus do forgive me for not thanking you on adding extra pictures of Pompei when I had only a few before my camera gave up on me........Thank so much they are brilliant
Yes its my pleasure for you to show our friends here what a great job you have done
No problems Kiya, I figured that saying as you had actually been there and seen the place then a few stock images to fill in with the ones you had already taken would not go amiss, afterall they are all things you would have seen but had no camera to record on the day.
Hopefully here is a very short clip to give folks some idea, this site uses 'Quicktime' player to run the MP4 clip so you may need to allow it to run if you are asked permission.
It is quite short as I am only allowed 5MB as an upload, it will be interesting to see if it runs OK on peoples PC's
Short clip.MP4
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
I seemed to be getting a message on opening this thread that I need to download Windows Media Player. Then I suddenly (as in it shocked me as I was musing and reading) HELL FIRE where I was GONNA BURN!!!!
It didn't play with me using Quicktime , then I downloaded Quicktime to my computer, it still didn't work but then I did a repair with Quicktime then it opened up with Windows Media Player which I have already
Just a shame our friends couldn't see more.......its brilliant
I forgot to say I love the part too where the transition opens like a book entering the Borgias Appartments although I was walking into the room, I think around 23 mins into the DVD
That is the thing about video clips you never quite know what is going to open them This morning I did not get the 'Quicktime' option, but if you hover your mouse over the text below the blank space on the words "Short clip MP4" and click on it, then it should open up 'Windows Media Player'
Kiya, I will try to upload a short video clip of the Borgias Apartments, but you don't get much for 5MB
You will be getting square eyes watching that video file I sent you, what are you going to be like when you have the real thing to view at full size on your telly, complete with Dolby surround sound
Great stuff H, I would like to see the rest of it.
I couldn't run it on my computer, or on either of my tablets, not even on WMP or AVS video editor. However, I downloaded the file and then dowloaded VideoLan VLC and it now plays fine.
What a great souvenir of your holiday Kiya and a Christmas pressie from our own 'whizz-kid'
Oh, and Kiya, let's see more of your Scottish colloquialisms.
Kiya, the goods are winging their way North of the border as we speak! First Class Postage (nothing is too good for my friends ) customs clearance has been granted and an import permit has been issued by Nichola Sturgeon herself to speed things up
So with any luck it should be in the "Bonnie banks and Braes" round about Saturday (weather permitting )
@ Grandad, shame it would not run in Media Player or Quicktime for you, but at least you got there in the end, as I said before, video files can be problematic and sometimes you just need to give them time to fully load as they are not always instant as they have to be uploaded from the site server.
PS: At wis affa gweed o' Nicola ti help ye oot Horus, good on er
I think it is only fair on our foreign friends to translate
"I am Awfully Excited and cannot wait to see it on the Television" &
" It was awfully good of Nichola to help you out Horus, good on her (for doing so)"
I hope I am not going to be having to translate all your posts Kiya
On the heels of the 'other' discussion, I feel that the titled thread of that discussion was veering away from the original point, hence a new one.
I personally feel that the UK must be the only...
