Has anyone noticed that the photo comps on L4U re-started in February. I had missed it but I don't look in there very often.
The April comp closes at midnight tomorrow, Egypt time, so a bit late but why not post something. It is in the Hobbies and Pastimes forum. Up to three pictures, usual max size 1280 x 1024 up to 500kb
APRIL SUBJECT - ANIMALS IN EGYPT
Any creature in Egypt but as Keefy responded to one question, chips are not allowed with fish
I was pleased to see it back and hope it gets good support. The new 'up to three pics per member' rule is good and boosts the entries. I even won a L4U tee shirt way back
I hadn't noticed so yes congrates to Egyptophile (who I think is a lady) and as you say her/his pictures are always very good, so well done to everyone who took part.
No suitable thread so this will have to do. Has anyone else tried to log on to L4U and got an unobtainable message. I have tried throughout the day without success
I didn't enter any photos into the L4U "Animals" photo contest cause I've got all my Egyptian photos on my External Hard Drive which is in Canada and I haven't been (in Canada) for a while so I had no photos I could use. I did enter photos other months to support Keefy's contest.

Me too LLL. A few years ago the monthly competition (and others like poetry and writing comps) were well supported and a lot of fun.
But the mix seems to have changed from then. Hopefully by entering the competitions we can rekindle some of the fun and not be so serious all the time.
As you say Grandad, "the mix has changed" and we do seem to have more confrontational posts and even downright rude ones towards some people, but not on here I might add.
I'll support Keefy's photo competition if I can when I can get my hands back on my photos from Egypt. Just don't have 'em now. Have also noticed that the number of posters on the Blue has shrunk over time and there are fewer and fewer posting but the 'attitude' is still there and never changes. Sometimes I post but most often of late just can't be bothered.
I know we have many excellent photographers that members of this forum so when I saw this National Geographic Photograph Competition I thought it may be of interest to some. National Geographic...
Well saying as Grandad and LLL have been good enough to treat us to some wonderful pictures I feel rather hesitant in showing you my own images that I have entered into our final internal club...

It was taken while out on a walk and it is a place that I know where they can usually be found at a certain time of the year. It is quite a boggy area located in a meadow and the Lady's Smock flowers...
Recounting the urban legend of a son abandoning his mother to the kindness of strangers, the 11 minute film combines familiar vignettes of Cairo life with slow and careful cinematography.
