The fruits of Autumn
DH went out to play last Friday and came back laden with Nature's bounty in the shape of damsons and blackberries! The blackberries found their way into a blackberry and apple crumble on Saturday and yesterday (Monday) the damsons became damson jelly! It is absolutely delicious! I have just sampled it on toast - well, you can't leave it to chance, can you? It might have been terrible! That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!

Great idea RS, I see lots of Damsons growing wild, but someone usually beats me to them, probably your DH

Re: The fruits of Autumn
I'm unthawing the last of the blackberries today. They never last long enough for me to make them into a pie or anything but they're dee-licious with ice cream

And since I've cruised the freezer I see that I'm getting down on strawberries (frozen) however the blueberry supply is in good stead. I actually freeze as many blueberries as I can get my hands on. A favourite snack is to eat them just one the cusp of unthawing. They have to be frozen but just slightly thawed. Am a semi-frozen blueberry afficianado
