Take what they say with a pinch of salt Kiya, unless it is something more serious such as the drum leaking, it is usually either a busted hose or the seal around the door where you get a leak from. Having said that you can get some good washing machines now for £200, I always think that the majority of them have far too many fancy cycles and setting for saving this and saving that, but saving for who? if I am not on a water meter then sod em, we have plenty of water where I live. ;)

Horus you could be right about the drum leaking.............when Roy was looking at it he thought the drum was a bit shaky & the water was coming from underneath.

When I spoke with my engineer over the phone ( he is local chap & very trust worthy ) & explained what was happening & with small pieces breaking away amongst my washing he thought it could be the shaft that helps or holds the drum & if its leaking that is worse!

Wont know till Sat when he comes to have a look at it & tell me if its worth fixing or time for a new one, it is just over ten yrs old now.

Roy did offer to buy a new one for me but I said no till we find out later, silly me I don't think I want to let go cause when I had my mother living with me for the last few months before passing I wouldn't take any board/keep from her ( how could I from my own mother ) bless her! so what she did she noticed that my washing machine & cooker at the time were both a bit worse the wear so she organised one of brothers to go get a new cooker/washing machine & all was installed before I came home from work, couldn't do nothing about it then..............but I guess everything has its life span ;)

True Kiya, but you can still look back on what she did for you at the time, so her real gift was not the appliances, but the generosity she was showing towards you. ;)

Heres your inspiration to do so Kiya, this is the PATH used in my last example image in part 3 and converted to something more interesting. ;)
