Teasels count for 1 :) They're fall(ish) ;)

Actually my albino pumpkin was a REAL pumpkin cleverly disguised as a ghost! H just moved the sheet to show the eyes 8)

This thread has been dormant for too long so I went for a walk this afternoon to find a few more 'colours of Autumn' and hopefully catch up if LLL is generous with her points. ;)

I have included fuschias which are into their second 'Autumn' bloom on my patio.

2988

The others are some white berries (perhaps Horus can identify them), fungii, horse chestnuts, and a little oak tree doing its best to put on some colour.

2989 2991

2992 2990

Don't be a meeny, 5 points please. ;) :up :)

WOW!! Great job Grandad! You'll get 5 points and ONE more for extra effort and good photos!!!

I've got to get back out there too. Can't believe your fucshias are doing that well - they're gorgeous! The leaves are here are now bright red and orange and I've got to get some snaps of them.

Great shots Grandad, it really is starting to look like Autumn and I think your first picture is the 'Common Snow Berry' :up

After coffee at the coast this morning, see Kiyas 'My View' thread, we went for a short walk in Clowes Wood on the way home. I just HAD to get a few more entries for the autumn colours thingy.

Took about 40, dumped more than 30 and from the remainder I am enterring these 4. I know one does not have much colour but the lady walking her dog came into frame and the 'puddles' are certainly autumnal......don't be 'orrible to me LLL....be generous with your points....PLEEEAAASE    Or if you are I will post the other 30 ;)

This one is against the light. (Contre Jour)

Nice pictures Grandad, looks like a nice spot for a walk, I can see what you mean about your leaves not turning very well this year, but they are nice pictures for all that and you must be catching up or maybe even in the lead with these. :up

Four points for Grandad! :) :) :) And a comment that you folks over there - across the pond -although this morning I'm going to say - "Across the PUDDLE" ;) sure haven't had a long fall with lots of colour.

I'm just back (can't sleep - over tired) as of the wee wee hours (wee-er than I ever like to see) but have noted that there are few few few leaves on any of the trees here.

Good one re: gumboots, wellies etc. Here known mostly as 'rubber boots' and wore mostly by 'sheep farmers' (ok you can all groan) ;)

Glad to see you are back safe and sound from your hols LLL and with that tropical storm Sandy it's a wonder you have any trees left, let alone any leaves on them. ;)
Regards the "gum boot" thing, I reckon that Grandad would agree with me that it is more of an old fashioned pre war name for what we would now call Wellies or Wellington's which in itself is a throw-back reference the the long boots worn by the good old Duke of Wellington himself. :up

But I AM old fashioned and pre-war Horus. :)))

They were called 'gumboots' when I was a kid though. ;)

Thanks H - I'm back safe and sound - just tired from my arrival at the house at 2am. Didn't sleep 'til 3am/woke at 7am and now that I'm back (in the USA) I'm all packed and still packing for my final sojourn back HOME to Canada (leaving here midnight Tuesday).....glad I rested up so that I can return to become tired again! ;)

Re: Gumboots, Wellies, Rubberboots etc - all terms would be and are recognized in Canada. Not too sure "Wellies" or "Gumboots" would be recognized here in the USA. Here you put on your rubber boots or just your black boots or your boots......

Popped out to fill up with petrol and had a short walk along the canal to try for a few Autum shots, unfortunately the sun was in the wrong place for most of them, but I did manage a couple that were not to bad. I also called in at a local church which is a photo location I like to use because the changing seasons usually throw up something new to photograph, the shadows were very long due to the late afternoon sun, so I was looking for colour with some good shadows, but once again the sun was in the wrong place for most of them.

Nice ones H. :up Your pictures seem to be brighter up your way, the leaves down this way look more diseased than autumn shades. :(

Love the sharp, crisp reflections.

Its that time of the year when we get those very bright, but cold days and if its really sunny like today you can get some nice clear pictures. I love this time of year as it is nice for walking especially if you wrap up warm, the only down side is that the days are very short, by the time you have had a spot of lunch and gone out for a couple of hours the day has just about gone.
