But But But - I didn't see any photos from Horus, Grandad, Kiya, BeardedBrian or any of us E4U gang???
The nerve! Guess they didn't want to show up their own pros by publishing our photos!

Re: Best Pictures: World Photography Awards 2011
I DO agree Keefy
Some of the 'pro' pictures look over edited particularly the 'Best pro People picture'. And what is so special about the 'Pro Landscape' picture?
I like people pictures, or candids, but they must tell a little story. I have dozens of them and here is a 'people' picture I will put in for 'Amateur people' next year....not
This was last month in Paris...

Let's see some more from you guys that you feel could compete with those winners

I quite agree Grandad that a photo needs to tell a story. Love your photo from Paris. I can look at it and it really speaks to the imagination AND it allows me to see "me" in such a picture. Am sure it takes 'talent' for the pros to turn out what they do but I'm also wondering how many are 'real' unedited photos/

Re: Best Pictures: World Photography Awards 2011
Editing and photo montage is normally accepted these days LLL. So often things are not really as they appeared. The biggest culprits for this are the advertising agencies.
The Best Amateur 'After Dark' entry looks as if there has been some very clever layering.
I like the audacity of the Best Pro 'Still Life' photographer to leave his clamps visible in shot, and I quite like the photo.
Probably my fav is the Best Pro 'Contemporary Issues' entry. SO much in that reportage image, made all the more dramatic in B & W.
