Kim Yung Il and now Kim Yung Un

Post by LovelyLadyLux »

Just seeing on the TV news last night that Kim Yung Il of N. Korea has passed away and WOW has that ever perked the attention of the USA. Apparently it took the US 2 days to find out that he had passed and they're really worried about whether or not his son (only in his 20ies) will be able to follow in his dad's footsteps.

Again apparently most of the politicians in N. Korea are elderly men and part of the question is is will the present senior politicians accept the young Kim.

Am thinking that 'more' countries than the USA are now concerned. China seems to have a real interest and am sure S. Korea isn't happy. I don't think I ever realized that internet is not allowed in N. Korea, cell phones are a prime black market object to acquire and most of the population has been indoctrinated to believe that Kim Yung Il is close to a deity.

We are also seeing lots of news coverage of his death, but all that adoration and wailing in the streets for a man who has been responsible for the death of millions and of his country returning to the dark ages, only goes to show the power of brainwashing. Personally I would just chuck him in a hole somewhere and then get on with trying to bring the country back into the 21st century, I have no sympathy for tyrants or dictators.

This false adoration that we have seen in North Korea is stage managed through brainwashing (as Horus said) and fear. One of the most suppressed peoples of the world and one of the most potentially dangerous countries that has nuclear weapons.

I have heard younger and informed North Koreans talking about the transparency of this contrived adoration and saying that the younger elements are not fooled and want a better life.

Could they be on the verge of some sort of revolution????

I would love to see the N. Korea to walk into the 21st century. There has been a rumour of a potential revolution led by younger activists some years back but it never happened. It has always sickened me whenever I saw the fattened body of the so called "beloved leader" appeared on TV... So many people in his country were (and are) starving, yet he couldn't care less about their living conditions... :x

I still remember the incident that took place years ago. One of Kim's sons tried to sneak into Japan using a fake passport with a bagful of cash... because he wanted to visit the Disneyland.

It is always the case with these dictator types and the Arab world has been a good example, "do as I say, not as I do" :x

Ever since Kim Yung Il's passing or I should say the USA finding out about his passing - WOW - has this really perked up all the Gov't types. Lots being published now about N. Korea.

I have to admit I was really amazed at how brainwashed so many of these people are and how much they deified Kim Yung Il while all the while he was living lavishly to excess while so many of his own people are starving to death. No phones, no internet - amazing that 1 man can shut down an entire country and basically keep them in the dark age.

"Word" on the street here seems to be that his son Un will not make the transition to leader and that the Senior Officials there will take over. I just hope that he who takes over can effect sufficient change to better all of N. Korea.

You know - naive or stupid that I may be I had this hope of Saif al Islam. I always had a thought that since he was educated in the UK and since he was 'wordly' he would KNOW that the repression of his father was wrong and once the 'old man' passed he would take over and make sweeping advances and changes in Libya. Was sure let down on that one and can't hardly believe that Un is going to be even a teeny tiny bit different from his father. Matter of fact he could be way worse IF he is able to take over and (ahem) lead his country.
