While having a browse around You Tube looking for something else, I came across an old song I had not heard for ages, one thing led to another and I listened to some long forgotten favourites that brought back memories from many years ago. I have always had quite catholic tastes, so my choices flit about quite a bit when I listen to music, I loved the old Country and Western singers, all the way from Roy Roger’s to people like Marty Robins, if the song had a story in it, then I usually liked it. These few are for no other reason than I liked them at the time and haven’t heard them for years.

One of my all time favourites was Marty Robbins and this one takes me back a long way!

I hadn't heard this one for years, but I found myself singing along and still knowing all the words, Mrs H was smiling and no doubt thinking silly old sod.

OMG Horus, you have set the old nostalgia memory buds opening.

The problem I have is remembering all those 'pop stars' of the day. People such as Nat King Cole and Frankie Laine spring to mind immediately. I was, and still am, keen on jazz. And also in the fifties the big bands that used to do the rounds for Friday and Saturday night hops.

The likes of Heath, Macintosh, Delaney, Gould and many more.

Grandad Geezzzz I was a very small child at the time of these, I do like Rawhide by Frankie Laine & remember the TV program Rawhide when I was little ....loved it.
