So very nice to be able to join in, I had the usual problem for ages that I couldn't log in, though never logged out. Just gave up on repeated attempts to join in. Then I had no Internet as I have moved into what was going to be The Casita (little house) which is now The Studio bursting at the seams with new Art stuff.
I am in pretty good nick for 78 yrs old certainly much better than in Cardiff. Thanks to Air France I couldn't bring my new scooter - which is ridiculous and caused me so much angst I'll leave that subject for now. Getting out is a bit of a problem as we are in the countryside - so even without Covid 19 I can't get a bus into town. If available a return visit to Santa Eulalia our nearest town would cost at least £50.
My artist friend hoped to spend at least 3 days a week with me and of course his car has Died. We did rent a car for a week while my daughter and grandson had a short holiday at Formentara a small tourist island just off Ibiza. I dog sat and friend and I spent a small fortune on lunching out. Having said that, my favourite place where the food is amazing with a good choice of dishes, changed daily serves 2 courses and coffee/tea for 11 euro. I didn't want a starter just salmon and veg - so I got a double serving! The owner has very high principles about fair pricing and it's always packed. I saw Jean Paul Gautier and friends there on a previous visit.
Spring has been very late in our garden as I couldn't get into the garden centres. As soon as they opened I grabbed every lift I could and bought loads of stuff. I love spending money on the garden, but I've been desperately short of pots of all sizes and compost. A friend volunteered to help, but came back with 5 bags of fertilizer instead of general purpose compost. I must admit the label on the back read Compost made from Mole "Waste"
Watering takes and hour or two a day, even though we have some automatic. I've done 6 hanging baskets which are coming along well after a very late start plus quite a few unusual flowers and herbs. I have some more trees - a persimmon fruiting, as well as a mango I bought about 3 years ago, we have young ,apple, avocado, thornless brambles and the usual mature orange, kumquat, lemons and olives.
I also look after the family fish, a couple of Koi and some goldfish who have all grown out of their original pool and are in a temporary tank about 1.5m x 80cm x 80cm should be roomy but the koi will be out of it I reckon by the end of the summer.
An excellent chiropractor who is a personal friend fixes all our aches and pains so I am pretty much on Heaven's doorstep I think. If those Barbary Doves could just get up later and go to bed sooner it would improve matters enormously though.
