Best news ever! This has truly been a miracle and as MD said you can almost hear the "sigh" from all corners of the world.

We may and/or probably never will truly there were any close calls - I mean the entire rescue was a close call - but getting all 12 boys + Coach was phenomenal that they didn't panic going through those tunnels. Maybe it was a bit of a good thing they were all in a weakened state but it is just the BEST NEWS ever that they're all out. NOW I want to hear they've cemented the entrance shut so it can never happen again!

And now it is time to celebrate this fantastic news.
:d1: :d1: :d1:

Sadly I have no doubt that somebody will capitalise with a film about all this. If they do then the proceeds should go to all those directly involved.

I'm sure Hollywood was holding casting calls for little boys two days ago.

Really sad there was a loss of life - the Senior Diver. May he RIP.

BUT

Such a fantastic end to this.

No doubt most if not all of the children were given some sort of drug to help keep them calm, maybe vallium or similar. :)

It was wonderful news, just hope they manage to sort out the stateless position of some of the poor children. It would be a great shame if they cannot get passports and take up the offer of a visit to the UK, 2024 is a long way away :(

Myanmar's Wa State, where Adul was born, is a self-ruled region not recognised internationally - nor by Myanmar - and is not allowed to legally issue passports.

With no birth certificate, no ID card and no passport, Adul cannot legally marry, get a job or bank account, travel, own property or vote. Thailand has said it will register all stateless people in the country by 2024.

More than 400,000 people are registered as stateless in Thailand, according the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Just seen that "Authorities in Bangkok confirmed that Ekkapol and three of the trapped boys were “not Thai citizens”, but officials have now promised to provide them legal assistance and say that, if there are no complications, all will have Thai nationality within six months." Hope so and they might then be able to travel to the UK next year after all.

I definitely hope they can and it would also be hoped that Thailand can get their act together for all their citizens.

I saw a clip on the News about the oldest 14 yr old boy. He apparently spoke sufficient English to be a translator and is more than smart. Definitely hope if he is smart that he can get into an educational program to really shine. Guess I'm saying I hope this bit of adversity gives him an advantage and he can capitalize on it.

Just seeing the Thai boys waving and saying 'hi' to the world from hospital. They're all wearing face masks and waving. The one boy "Adul" spoke and said 'thank you' to everybody. They are all looking good. I hope the Coach is also faring as well and isn't eating himself up with guilt.

Am assuming they should all be released from hospital soon. Hopefully nightmares and PTSD from the cave won't happen or be severe throughout their life.

I am thinking that the coaches later actions may very well be the reason they all survived, so no recriminations from me.

They said on the news that they will all leave hospital on Thursday.

If we knew all the facts I am sure that the coach was very much a leader in keeping up the boys spirits. I was amazed to hear one of the UK rescuers say that they still had light. That would suggest that they managed their situation very well and were confident of being found.

So much courage all round :up
