I have just had to cancel my planned New Year evening at my friends house as he has just phoned to say he is not feeling well (his wife has just had the Flu for the last week) so he was phoning to say he was calling it off. So it will be a quiet night in with just myself and Little Annie to see in the New Year, so here’s wishing you all

From what I hear from others it has certainly turned into the Flu epidemic that they forecast.
I shall just content myself to a bottle of Merlot and some French Brie I have in the chiller and find myself a film on Netflix prior to watching the Midnight fireworks. All the best to you too mate.

I did stay up 'til midnight. Somebody at the school just down the street from me lit off a few fireworks and the people across the street came out and the fellow shot off a firecracker type gun into the air a few times with the teenagers next door running out into the street to watch him. Was as exciting as it got then I went to bed and was Zzzzzzzing right away.

Been half watching TV news who are reviewing all the stories of the year. Was going to the daughter's house today for "Star Wars Day" (kids dress up as Star War characters) whereby really they're having an open house of cookies and coffee for their relatives and neighbours BUT given the flu that has been floating around here and given the granddaughter is scheduled for surgery again on Thursday they decided yesterday to call it off so as to keep her healthy and not invite in any extra germs, bugs and viruses. Means like Horus I'm without a scheduled plan so now mulling what I'll do today.

I know at one of the Lakes there is a jog around the lake and then run into the water today starting at 11am with the run into the icy water at noon - Polar Bear Swim idea but not sure I really feel like going to watch that.

Will have to think on what I'm going to do today to start off the New Year - no rain or snow but no sun either so going to have to think on what I'm going to do.

Lazy first day of the New Year, I felt a bit off this morning but seem to have recovered now, my breathing was a bit tight so thought I may be comming down with something, hopefully not
