Another terrible attack with an extremely high number of victims. I think the Sinai area has always been somewhat wild, untamed but hopefully the Egyptian state can get some control in there and settle things down.

Our media is saying that Sisi has responded with "brute force" and honestly I don't blame him. It is high time those who commit crimes against innocent unarmed people are immediately brought to justice no matter what it takes.

I find it very disturbing that those who commit these horrendous crimes here are then treated with kid gloves and get more rights than the rest of us.

Yes LLL, it is reported here that Sisi responded with air strikes in areas known to be occupied by IS. The last count I heard was 304 dead and about 100 injured. It seems that not only was a bomb used but also 30 to 40 IS fighters positioned themselves to take out worshipers leaving the mosque and this is in a village of just two or three thousand people.
For many years North Sinai has been the only area within Egypt that our Foreign Office has strongly warned against travel. They have not changed their travel advice today following this atrocity.

But why did Sisi not take out these so called bases beforehand?
