Do things really happen in 3s?

On a streak or maybe never a dull moment...........

Sooooooo it was my daughter's birthday and just cause the sun comes up every day and for no other reason known to man I decided to buy her a personal safety anti-attack alarm aka emergency LOUD siren AND have her children, my grandchildren GIVE it to her wrapped up as a small prezzie IN the restaurant of the Grocery Store.

I took the time to explain to the Grandkids what it was and that it was only to be used in emergencies i.e. if you are at home and your mom was to fall down the stairs you could take this outside pull the pin and all the neighbours would hear it and come to see what is wrong blah blah blah..........NEVER ONCE did I say "show your Mom HOW IT WORKS IN restaurant of THE GROCERY STORE!!!!

Any idea how LOUD 90 decibels can be???

Never did like shopping much there anyway................

Then to compound life and/or just keep it interesting - this year I have opted to host a couple of students from Germany who are attending our local University. They're all terrific young people and before classes start I thought they'd enjoy going to Victoria our capital city for a day. I gave them the highlights of things to do and see and suggested they go to our Royal Museum as it has real authentic natural displays and scenes from around BC of wildlife and highlights First Nations culture, early mining/logging/fishing etc. They did all go there, loved it all and seemingly took particular interest in the display featuring a grizzly bear in its natural forest habitat.

I can attest the bear + background look extremely authentic in a still photo because after the first hysterical voicemail on the phone when I got home from Germany from a parent at wits end seems the group took turns taking selfies of themselves looking terrified of the GRIZZLY BEAR in the trees BEHIND THEM and emailed these same photos to their parents with no real explanation other than something along the lines of 'this is where I'm at in Canada now!!!'

They came clean to me real quickly and showed me the selfies of the bear exhibit they'd taken of themselves and "YUP" not knowing any different I'd of said that they were out strolling in the forests here with a huge bear coming up behind 'em........

Ahh well just another day in the life........best laid plans....seemed like a good idea to take 'em to the museum...........

Tomorrow the plan is to go to the salt water beaches at low tide ........ am sure a Kraken will emerge from the depths .......... do things really happen in threes?

Will keep you posted.........

The first just unfolded in slow motion. I bought this little gadget thing for $1.49 on a whim in a grocery store. At the time it struck me as a great idea to carry a little fob that would ring LOUD and CLEAR if there was ever an issue. Actually bought three of them (one for the other daughter and me)

I explained to the twins all about 'emergency' and what that might constitute but never dawned on me to tell them NOT to show their mom how it works!! And being curious little boys they pushed the button and the side button was turned to on to blare out a 90 decibel blast......

Like I said I didn't like shopping their anyway ... ;) Actually I go there often. This was the store that my bike got stolen from in front of.

Ahhh wellllllll........another day in the life..........

Yup I should. I actually bought three of these cause, at the time, I must've been on a 'personal safety' kick and it did seem to me to be a terrific idea to have one of these if I was every attacked etc although the FEAR that was more forefront in my mind was that if I ever drove off the road it might take ages for anybody to ever notice me. Lots of our roads have deep ditches as in really deep with lots of trees so if you do end up 'in the ditch' you can be way down a steep embankment. I actually thought having one of these might signal help much better than me yelling "help, help" ......

I can attest that while these things are cheap they do pack one awful LOUD screech AND People DO COME RUNNING!
