Garden Yummies

I didn't plant strawberries however there were some when I moved in here. Last summer I got nothing out of them but I did throw a whole bunch of compost on them last fall and shoved in a few of the runners.
This past Monday when I left the entire area was green. Came back Wednesday to this
They look a bit more impressive really close up but I did get a decent bowlful and suddenly the leaf lettuce seems to have taken off and I need a machete to whack back the kale.
This didn't come from my garden. Actually I believe it came from Mexico but it was totally DEE-LICIOUS and I did eat it all myself. Watermelon, summertime and the 'livin' IS easy'
