Yes, I often wonder what time zone are posts timed at? If it is Egypt time, they are out. If it is UK time, they are out???
Ah, just rechecked.perhaps they are on Egypt time?

Easy, just plug in your camera to your PC with a USB cable and switch it on, go to MY COMPUTER and click on it, you should see your cameras memory card showing as just another drive say 'f' or 'g' or whatever. Click on that drive and it will open, you will then see maybe two folders, one will be called DCIM, click it open and all the files you see will be your cameras pictures. If you have your 'file' viewing options set to 'icons' a small image will also be visible. Clicking on any of the files should open up some sort of picture viewer and if you highlight any of the pictures and drag a 'copy' onto your desktop you can do whatever you want to with that particular image.

Thankyou HORUS. My comp has 4 holes at the front, my camera has one large hole, I have no cable. When the weather picks up I will go to the photographers shop and he will make a cd of small images. When I had a virus and had to take it into the town shop I labelled all the holes in the back and the wires I had pulled out, so I could put them back in place correctly. If something goes wrong with the comp I pull the plug. This is the sum total of my knowledge.

If you know what the cable looks like they are dirt cheap on the likes of Amazon

I was going to say the same thing as Horus just did. IF you go to a photoshop he is going to charge you through the nose for a USB cable. Buy on for $3 more or less off of Ebay or Amazon. If you can do Ebay and get one from China they half the time don't even charge you shipping

(They're anxious to sell)
If you have ANY computer cables you may find that you already have a USB.

That is correct and just so long as it has the same end as your camera plug it should work OK

Ever since I yanked my camera off the table and broke the lens (couple years ago) I use ONLY the USB off the GPS Garmin thing as it is only about 12" long. It is so short I can't put the camera anywhere other than my lap when I download photos so I have to detach it prior to putting it over on the table.

not being a great techi type, i just use a card reader. I take the card out of the camera into a card reader. when i then plug the usb card reader, my kind old pc pops open a little box thats says what would you like it to do. I can then chose download or simply view etc. by clicking download, they all just fire across to the pc without any effort or thinking on my behalf

Robbo, that is actually the best way of doing things

I only mentioned the USB plug to camera method as I did not think that Jay had one, or knew how to use it.
