Just simply sharing a saying that was sent to me via a cousin in Australia.

The Phrase:

"There is something indecent about the idea that in order to prevent people from drowning in their attempt to reach safety you punish the ones who don't drown. That is precisely what this country is doing now." By Julian Burnside

Although this phrase is relatively short it rather says it all.

If by "Punishing the ones that don't drown" he is referring to us subjecting the rest of the migrants to some sort of scrutiny first before accepting them into our respective countries, then I don't quite follow his logic, as in "what is wrong with doing that?"

Punish the invaders ? Not me, I would ship them right back where they came from and unload at gunpoint. They would soon run out of money to get on a boat again - - -

Hmmm - you guys took a different take on it than I did. I took it that the ones who didn't drown are US and we're footing the bill, the $$ for support.
