I got this recipe from my daughter but I think I've also seen it on one of the cook programs.

It's not really a recipe but a case of 1, 2 & 3.........Chicken, black pudding & bacon.

With your chicken fillet cut along the middle to make a pouch, put in a slice of black pudding & close then wrap bacon around to keep it altg.

Then wrap it all in cling film & put in oven for 30-45 mins depending the size of your fillet, for the last 10 mins or so take it out of the cling film just to make sure your bacon is cooked.

I'm having baked potato & a cheesy sauce with it.

PS The cling film does not melt or burn, I had to try it before I believed her ;) :)

I was following along until we got to the cling film part. Why doesn't it melt or burn?

It really doesn't, no idea why !

We better rely on Horus or Grandad to explain :) :)

Well you really have got me there Kiya :? by all rights 'Cling Film' should melt in a hot oven above abot 120 c so really not sure why yours did not. You can use it to poach in a water bath as long as its not boiling, but in an oven it should melt and release all sorts of chemicals into the food, I would have thought that foil would be the best option.

There are special materials that look similar for cooking chickens and vegetables in a clear bag, so it may be that you have something similar? Some strange things can be done with plastics that have water in them such as boiling water in one over an open fire, it will only melt where there is no water touching the plastic plastic, I wouldn't want to drink it though.

So you have me stumped on that one Kiya and I don't honestly know why it is not melting, but I would be careful of any chemicals being released into the food unless it is special cling material.

I thought you would have known Horus :)

My oven is very hot.......I set it to 160c for 45 mins & it was fine, the cling film didn't shrink either.

The mind boggles :o

I'm not sure I have Cling wrap but at high heat I'd worry about chemical leeching or releasing. Why is hasn't melted is quite curious to me.
