Another Actor Passing

Philip Seymour Hoffman just found dead, allegedly due to drugs (heroin) at age 46. An Oscar winning actor for his portrayal of Truman Capote in the movie "Capote."

I liked this man as an actor in the movies he was in. Terribly tragic to have lost his life at such an early age due to his struggle with addictions which apparently started as a youth. Really makes me wish for prevention programs.

Another one for all the ********* that keep telling us that weed and other substances are Ok can add to their ever growing list, one drug leads to another, they all started off on something soft and end up as hard line junkies. :stp

Don't disagree. More and more the laws here are ok with legalizing marijuana and so, of course, it is now much easier to get your hands on it and IMO it is a gateway drug to other harder hasher drugs. Marijuana is mind-altering and while it can be argued that like alcohol the idea is to use it in moderation BUT I can't get my mind around how you don't get high using it? AND I also think comparing it to alcohol is like comparing apples and oranges. Not the same at all.

Smoking cannabis is a fools game, I had a friend many years ago who was selling and smoking daily. I saw this friend after many years when I visited UK, from a clever young man he had turned into a useless mindless liability for his elderly parents who were looking after him. AS for cannabis OIL, that is being used to cure many types of cancer , available in USA , well that is a different story entirely, Rick Simpson/Phoenix Tears . youtube videos.

Canabis is like any other substance on this Earth in that it can have certain medical properties, those properties when properly chanelled can be a benefit to mankind. All narcotics can be used to controll pain or ease certain conditions, they can also benefit animals, but for the life of me I cannot see how someone can justify taking a horse tranquilizer as a recreational persuit. Those that advocate the consumption of these substances do so from their own warped perspective, you only need to read or listen to their often uninteligible beliefs and strange ramblings to realise that their brains are already seriously affected by its use, it is only they themselves who do not realise this fact. Then often try to justify their own lack of any real will power and addiction by trying to convince the rest of us that its OK to use these substances. 8)

Well, me, I would export every drug addict to one of those cold bleak islands near Scotland ( you will be ok Kiya, they wont be able to swim to you, the icy water will drown them) and leave them there - -

Nearest thing to suicide in my book with total disregard for family and friends left behind. Never heard of the man and don't expect any sympathy from this direction.

This particular Actor's demise is all over the news here today. Apparently he had an entire pharmacopeia paradise in his home - 50 packets of heroin plus packets labeled "Ace of Spades" and "Ace of Hearts" (whatever that is) + mega other multi-other drugs both prescription and street.

Totally sad that any person even starts to use.

Can't even wrap my mind around why anybody would ever want to even start as the downside and evils of addiction are well published. Same with marijuana. I live in a corner of the world where it is super easy to grow marijuana and it IS grown here. Known as BC Bud and let me tell you the guys growing it have genetically modified this plant to grown super big, super fast, produce the bud (which I think is the part that is smoked) to give the most addictive shot to the person it can. HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!!! If it wasn't the drug dealers would not be in business and they're thriving because what they're pushing is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!!

IMO it is crazy to legalize marijuana. Going to turn an entire generation into a bunch of zombies as their brains will be mush. And in turn they're 'breeding' and then raising children who are in the midst of this world of drug induced haze.
