To keep us sharp and on our toes thought we could use a new word of the day:
Lalochezia
The emotional relief obtained from using profane or abusive language
What is your new word?

I quite like that one LLL as I am a user of Lalochezia most days
My own word is
Peripatetic [per-uh-puh-tet-ik]
walking or traveling about; itinerant.
which often applies to myself as well.

Peripatetic has a neat sound to it too. Haven't thought yet or hear another word for today but will come up with one by the end of MY day - By the way - how did the day go? I'm just at 9am so want to be sure today will go well before I get there
Now - the NEW word of today

That's a good one and I know a few on a certain forum who would fall into that category
"A rude, nasty, or dishonest critic that enjoys finding faults in others."

My word for the week is:
Serendipity I love the way it skips along when you say it.
Edit: Not read your post yet Grandad but Murmuration is another excellent word, I just love all those weird and wonderful words to describe various collections of birds.

I think Murmuration borders on being 'onomatopoeic'. If you have ever been below one of those dislpays and heard the varying pitch of the 'murmur' as the flock changes direction, then it is a very apt description.
Apparently Serendipity means 'pleasant surprise' or 'something good found by accident'. I remember when we went to Sri Lanka and it was described as Serendip. Despite all its political and cultural problems, Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and certainly a pleasant surprise for us.
BTW, Wiki says that Serendipity is one of the 10 most difficult English words to translate......

I believe that the word Serendipity does actually come from the old name for Sri Lanka (Ceylon in old money) which was Serendip. It has to do with a story of three princess who all had an unrelated bit of good fortune happen to them, or "a lucky accident"

Edit: I have just played a tenner on The Health Lottery

Just trying to buy my serendipity if I have to

Sorry Grandad I have to disqualify that one on medical grounds

as it is a made up word for Silicosis.
Talking of industrial diseases appertaining to mining reminded me of the word
Clariflocculation a term used to describe the extraction of solids from water in the production of Gold & Copper or water treatment.
