Double doh!!
Of course strewth is Cockney, I should have remembered that.
Didn't realise Guest was you, Hepzi!
Keefy, is there any special reason why the "View more smilies" are spread over 3 pages, rather than all on one convenient page as in the old Green side?

Yes, It's to accommodate people with a smaller screen resolution, that's why the youtube videos and some other stuff on the forum is a certain size.Winged Isis wrote: Keefy, is there any special reason why the "View more smilies" are spread over 3 pages, rather than all on one convenient page as in the old Green side?

Re: Tab has been recovered!
I decided to give Chrome a try. I'm now using E4uGold on my office computer and I seem to be able to move between pages without any problem. I'll give it another test later on.
Thank you all.

Re: Tab has been recovered!
Glad you are sorted now Hepzi, it does run more smoothly if you use something other than IE8 on a PC running on XP. It seems as though IE9 on a PC running Windows 7 is OK though.

Goddess, what do you mean by guest? all members from the other sites are automatically registered as members on here.
A new members can register and are asked a few questions to prove they are human and not web 'bots' but a new members first posts may need approval to avoid spamming the site.

Beats me what I mean!
How come that Numpty Pink elephant managed to post as a guest?? Does it mean if I wasn't signed in - I can still post in this section but have to wait to be modified first?
(Not planning a mass spamming operation - honest!)

Re: Tab has been recovered!
The short answer is that Hepzi kept having problems logging in, but I knew it was Hepzi so approved her posts. If she had been a new member with an untried record, her post would have been looked at more closely to check if or not it looked like spam. If it looked iffy then it would not get approved, it only happens at first just to try and eliminate spammers

That Numpty Pink Elephant has no idea what you're on about and unlike real elephants, that never forget, she has no recollection about posting as a guest!

Yes Guests can post in this section, but the post has to be approved by a moderator before it shows. The reason behind this is to help people who cant login, so they still can post to let us know, they have an option to enter a username if posting as a guest, if they dont enter a username it will just show as Guest

Re: Tab has been recovered!
Would you believe it! I had no trouble with the New Blue opening using IE. That is until today when I did some computer spring cleaning. As soon as I started using the blue side again I also started getting Tab recovery problems! Now added Blue to Chrome and working fine.

Re: Tab has been recovered!
Apparenly its only with some certain builds of IE8, so they might be some bug fixes for it (I will check this out later), quite a few people have reported the same problems on many other forums.Horus wrote:As I said ealier Hepzi, IE8 is rubbish with the new style forums, better to use Chrome or Firefox

Re: Tab has been recovered!
I agree about IE8 being crap even with other forums, it has never been that good a version anyway. The problem is that some user cannot upgrade to IE9 if they are still running XP on their PC's.

Re: Tab has been recovered!
"This Tab Has Been Recovered" Message Pops Up When You Are Browsing Some Websites Using Internet Explorer 8
SYMPTOM
When you attempt to browse a website using Internet Explorer 8, instead of seeing the expected website, and error message like the following appears:
“This tab has been recovered.
A problem with this web page caused Internet Explorer to close and reopen the tab.”
CAUSE
This problem can occur due to one or more non-Microsoft add-ons running with Internet Explorer.
RESOLUTION
Start Internet Explorer to No Add-ons mode with clicking Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
If the issue doesn’t occur in No Add-ons mode, use Add-on Manager to disable all add-ons and then turn them on only as needed until the problem reoccurs. This will allow you to determine which add-on is causing the problem.
To open Add-on Manager, take the following steps:
1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button and then clicking Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons.
In Internet Explorer 8, you can disable toolbars by clicking the X on the side of the toolbar. If there are any add-ons associated with the toolbar, a dialog box will be displayed where you can keep or disable the additional add-ons.
If disabling add-ons doesn't solve the problem, try resetting Internet Explorer back to its default settings. This clears all changes that have been made to Internet Explorer since it was installed, while retaining your favorites and feeds. To reset Internet Explorer back to its default settings, please take the following steps:
1. Close all Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows.
2. Open Internet Explorer.
3. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
4. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
5. Click Reset.
6. When you are done, click Close, and then click OK.
7. Close Internet Explorer and reopen it for the changes to take effect.
If the problem still persists then reset IE.
To reset Internet Explorer settings visit below link and click on Fix it button/ follow the troubleshooting steps provided.
