Too much. This was not a planned trip. I was down in the US to get my medical stuff attended to and this was a sudden impromptu.

I must say though that 2 of them are here and have the pad all framed in and will be pouring concrete soon.

How big is this 'heat pump' that it requires such a large base?

Ummmm - BIG and needs to heat 3600 sq ft

Mostly what part of the problem is is that the old heat pump was built directly beside the downstairs bedroom window (crank the window open and it hits the heat pump!) and the heat pump actually vents or blows UP onto a jut out of the house where the gas fireplace is!! I have no idea how this passed inspection so it is being moved and a new pad needs poured so that the air directly above it (well 3' above it) isn't part of the house. What is also compounding it is it is located on a slope. As you walk to the back of the house it slopes down so the pad needed to be fit into the lay of the land.

The two men got the cement poured but then it started to pour rain so it is now covered up outside drying.

Sunday, 11am, 17 degrees, sunny and windy. Not really the average temperature for mid November but who is complaining, I am all flu jabbed up.

Very cold, overcast with intermittent rain, a really gloomy day and in a few hours it will be dark again.

Monday, sunny all day, my strawberry plants have flowers ! Now its only 16* outside so my fire is lit and it will stay in all night, this azinho wood is great, really slow burner. The caterpillars are everywhere, I have started using scissors - snip and dead- haaa haaa- somewhat like beheading . . .

Just drove back down to the USA and I must say I again drove through torrential rain! I must admit it was very nice driving through Seattle as many of the skyline office buildings are bathed in the colours of Paris France. Was a very touching tribute to the tragedy in Paris.

Another dull and very dreary looking day, not going to get any better by the looks of things.

Same here, very depressing and we have very tall trees at the rear....more high winds forecast. Still mikd though but colder at the weekend.

Its blowing a hooley out there tonight. lashing rain, cold wet and miserable. I suspect the dog walk will be a short dash to the loo for the 4 of them and beat me back to the door at high speed

Just talked to my daughter who is back on the rock and she said they cancelled the Ferries after the one I was on last night and today 41,000 homes are without electricity.

About an hour ago I had to go outside and start putting stuff away in the shed as it was blowing evrywhere, quite a gale. Tomorrow is bin day, so my main 'wheelie' bin is outside ready for collection, as we speak the lid is flapping up and down like an Elephants ear, I do hope that the contents are not all over the drive way in the morning

Wet & cold here with a little wind

Windy again this morning and some quite heavy downpours, seems to have calmed down a little now and brightened up slightly.

Almost all the rivers around here are full to brimming and at flood stage. None have actually spilled over their banks yet but if one more drop of rain falls we'll be having floods.

Much calmer today, but still very overcast.
