Thanks Grandad :up quite a few of our local pubs (not these modern excuses for a pub) will allow a well behaved dog in the bar area and as most have a seperate dining room and also serve meals in the bar then there is not a conflict. I would not dream of taking her into a proper eating area, but a bar or outside area is usually OK in most pubs, that is what I liked about my holiday in Dorset, they were very dog friendly. As to the 'weeing' I think that with 'lady' doggies it is more about saying "I was here" than marking a territory, I had expected that after she was speyed the practice would stop, but no, frequent wee's seem to be part of the pleasure of a walk   even though most times it would not dampen a postage stamp. ;)
And yes I have always been a keen observer and lover of nature :up

Yes sorry about that Kiya, I did notice but could do little about it as the video editor I use does not seem to have a clear block text available, it all has fancy shadows and the like that don't help with clarity. Also you are really stuck on what background happens to be behind the text as you cannot really change what you have available to work with. The only other thing is to pause the video and read the text before moving on :up

Here is another walk we did last week, it is in a country park called Apedale and it used to be a mining area and the land was seriously messed up. Fortunately as part of a general cleanup of such areas it has been transformed into a potential beauty spot for future generations and a conservation area for all sorts of wildlife.

Due to a restriction of 15 minutes per video on YouTube I have to keep each one quite short, so I have posted both parts 1 & 2 here so you can watch them together, hope you find them enjoyable. ;)

Phew I think I'm tired now after that two walks with you & Annie ;) seriously though lovely interesting walks :)

I'm afraid to say I'm sure I'd get lost with all the different paths forking off & isn't it just like it for Annie to get a new harness then to go through the muddy puddles ;) but at least I noticed she s quite good with your commands when whistling on her :)

I think some of that photos with all the greenery & cloud formations would be good with a bit of HDR added.

Thank you for sharing, it must have taken some time & effort for doing so :) :)

Thanks folks :up

Kiya, because I had to lighten the video up a little bit it often looks a bit HDR especially the skies which were full of clouds on that particular days walk. She does respond quite well to my whistles and also to short verbal commands, if for example she is unfamiliar with where to go and she chooses the wrong way, I just say "other way" and she will instantly change direction, but the next time she goes that way she will pick the correct direction, she is pretty clever that way. :)

LLL, Annie has always been a 'mucky pup' she will always choose the puddles and the muddy bits rather than keeping clean and she certainly doesn't care that her dad has just paid for a wash and a trim, or even a nice new harness for that matter, she is just a little 'Tom Boy' nothing 'ladylike' at all. ;)

When we were away the 'free' wifi was useless so I lost touch with all that was happening in the real world. Just looked back a couple of weeks to see what i missed so big apologies H for missing your latest walks with Annie. I am amazed at her energy and, as you say, she is a bit of a tomboy.

You certainly have some lovely walks with great views near you. Regrettably I could not contemplate such excursions now with my leg problems so thanks for sharing, and also thanks for spending the considerable time to put them together. At least you have the satisfaction that they are now there for others to enjoy.

I like the railway, the track looks narrow, do you know what gauge it is. Could it be about 24" or more than that. Down here we have The Romney Hythe and Dymchurch railway with one third scale rolling stock running on 15" gauge track.

Thanks again, I think I have caught up now. ;)

Railway gauge? You mean the width of the tracks? And only 24" (for a real train?)

Just had another look and also at the Apedale website but they do not confirm the actual gauge. I think it probably is 24" because that was popular in the early 1900's.

Our little local narrow gauge railway is a scheduled service with the tourist interest being almost secondary to this service that runs almost in peoples back yards on the journey from Hythe to Dungeness. This is 15" gauge with the loco's one third scale. Here is a train arriving at Dungeness.

I have no idea what the gauge of a railway track might be but 24" seems super small to me. Off the top of my head, if asked, I'd of said more like 5 or 6' wide.........

Maybe just a perceptual thing but I'd of swore rail way track are way wider then 24" ....... Going to have to look next time I'm around the tracks! ;)

LLL, the railway in Horus's film is described as 'narrow gauge'. There is no set gauge and the track width varies in many parts of the world. I won't list the most common but suffice to say the UK mainline standard is 4 foot 8 1/2 inches and has been so since the very first railways. Russia is wider and India is around 5 foot and some go up to 7 foot so nothing is internationally standard.

Ahh - okee dokee - just struck me as teeny tiny. I'm sure the railway lines around here are probably 5' wide (give or take). Never thought the width would change (that much).
