I'll wait till the new Red to do my signature as it's dead over there anyway. I was just doing it while doing the Blue and here.

Love the colours. Promotes an air of quiet relaxation.
First time on this side of things, so I suppose I've lost my RVIP status(?)
Keep up the good work Keefs.

Nice to see you over on this new style site Two7Right, look forward to seeing you post some more. Yes everyone gets a new beginning, although old L4U members like yourself had your details transfered over as being members on here from 2008.

Re: New Forum Design
Grandad, as you see a slightly difference choice of options than I do with my ‘moderator’ window view, I am assuming that when you click on that particular choice below your picture, that nothing happens? If so then this is the explanation:
As you know the new forum has a lot of new features and many of them have to be in place to deal with any problems that may occur. One problem as you know is ‘spamming’ this is carried out by robots that search the web and post rubbish onto forums, these ‘bots’ can pretend to be new members and start posting advertisements or links to unsavoury sites.
To avoid this every new member is asked a set of questions that only a human could figure out and this helps to stop spamming. In the case of photographs a similar option exists where a moderator or Admin can delete something that may be distasteful or inappropriate for this forum. It is not intended as censorship, rather an option to see that only acceptable images are uploaded. Previously people could delete photographs in their own album, but not from any communal albums, this too has caused some problems in the past as random deletions of pictures can ruin the continuity of a thread, especially to someone browsing older topics.
So the new forum has this ‘Moderate’ option below all pictures in all sections and only authorised people can delete photographs. Regular members like yourself can upload pictures at will, but some new members uploads may have to be vetted in the first instance for suitable content. This does not stop you asking for a picture to be removed for some reason or another, it just gives us a chance of say putting a copy elsewhere in another album to avoid people getting red crosses all over posts they are reading.

Re: New Forum Design
In my Album when I click on Moderate I get the 1 & only choice to Edit, I tried it in 1 photo & it added an "Image Description"
I'm not sure if this is the same as Grandad is speaking about

It's the same thing Kiya, but there are only some limited options available for you such as changing the description.

Re: New Forum Design
Maybe I missed this but just sent you a PM H and noticed that my 'inbox' is 75% full. I wanted to delete a bunch of messages but - where is the delete button? I really did look everywhere but couldn't see a 'delete' to messages. How do I get rid of some of the messages in my boxes - in/out/otherwise....Thanks muchly........from LLL the techno challenged member

Re: New Forum Design
No problems, first go to the ‘User Control’ button at the top of the page, just above the time & date where you see the Logout and Options buttons.
After you left click on the User Control button another page will open and you will see a small menu on the left, left click on ‘Private messages’.
Another menu will appear on the left and below the heading Board Preferences you will see Private messages ‘Inbox Click on the word Inbox.
You should now see a list of all of your Private Messages in another window. Just put a tick in the little box alongside each message you want to delete.
Now look at the very bottom right of the page and you will see two buttons that say GO, Look at the uppermost one and you will see that there is a white box to the left with a very small downward pointing arrowhead. If you click the arrowhead another option menu will drop down and in the list will be the option ‘Delete Marked’. After you click on this option it will appear in the box and you can now press the GO button along side.
After you do this you will be asked to confirm your action YES or NO, click YES to complete the deletion and wait to be returned to the messages list, once you are back there again, click Board Index to take you back to the forum pages.
PS. The other question you PM'd me about will be because that particular post was deleted as being 'Spam'

Re: New Forum Design
Is there any short cut that shows us what threads/posts are active and have just been posted on like the scrolley we used to have on the old one?

Re: New Forum Design
JoJo, at the very top of the main page below the Egypt4U logo, you will see the Options button, click the little downward pointing arrowhead and you will have several options. Best to start with ‘View Unread Posts’ then after that just click the ‘View New Posts’ option, each time you visit.
PS Sorry I missed your birthday petal, Mwah!

I presume it's to report abusive or distasteful posts, Hepzi, although I can't imagine anyone on here needing to use it!
