Gorgeous Sunflowers! Love 'em BB. I particularly LOVE dahlias (love the white one the most! LOVELEEEEE) but I've never known them to self seed. I've collected seeds from them and started them again but am thinking here might be just too cold for that.
Do you start your sun flowers from seed BB? Or you do get 'em already started?
Thanks for all your comments. All the sunflowers were started from seed - they should be planted where they are to grow but I grew them in peat pots first and then planted them when space became free. Went looking for the giant Russian sunflower yesterday - looks as if they weren't that big and flowered whilst I was in Luxor.
I hadn't expected the dahlias to self seed either and it was only because I was late at clearing that patch that I noticed them growing.
Wish I was greenfingered - I've lost much more than I've managed to grow.
These lilies bloomed whilst I was away in Yorkshire and faded whilst I was in Egypt so I only had part of a day to enjoy them. It's possible that the Black ones are going to bloom again in the next day or so - I say again because all the bulbs were planted at the same time so it is possible that for some reason the bulbs had a delayed start.
H as you can see I have used Picasa again - depending on how the angiogram goes tomorrow I might be in a better frame of mind and will catch up on the tutorials and you suggestion re collages.
Again some great pictures Brian and anyway it looks pretty good as a collage using Picassa. No problems about the tutorials, just get in touch whenever you feel ready, no rush.
Hope all goes well with you for tomorrow
It came across to my attention as a TV news item - parents in the USA (Tennessee) have named their child Messiah and a Judge has ordered them to change the child's name. No details as to how or why...
@Grandad - I know you've said your garden containers have ferns. I'd never grown them but cause yours looked so good I bought a couple 4 ones last year and they really grew well (think I even posted...

I've been looking for a good sized Stag's Horn Fern for ages. They grow so slowly I don't want a small one. I've recently found some on line, but pretty pricy at about £40 with postage. :(
I want to prepare for the next challenge as the current Amaryllis one is well underway.
I like geranium/pelargoniums - they come in all sorts of sizes and colours, upright and weeping, amazing...

Since I've got the garden plots in I'll be growing tomatoes this summer. What I grow will depend on what varieties get brought in but 1 will be a small cherry type tomato and the other two varieties...
I've actually tried looking this up on the Net but haven't found an answer. Can a plant leaves go yellow if they get too much daylight? I don't mean direct sun I mean can daylight actually cause some...
