Its nice when you can use your talents to help people like your friends and family Kiya, no easy way with some restorations, you just ahve to keep picking away at it, just be careful that you know when to stop and not overdo it.
You must show us a before and after

Re: What are you doing today?
Taxiing Mrs G into town. Normally a five minute trip but right now they have decided to shut off some lanes on the main dual carriageway across the edge of the city. So the trip took 30 minutes and there was no evidence of any activity except for one workman sitting on the edge of a hole in the central reservation: While a total city log jam was happening all around him.

Re: What are you doing today?
This is what I've done so far............It is the family fishing boat before she was lost at sea, taken at our local harbour around 1935 - 36
All the surrounding buildings are still there today, my brother wants all text & the 2 faces taken out taken.
I'm trying to keep it authentic & as you say Horus it is knowing when to stop.

Safe trip LLL
Kiya, that looks pretty good to me and I reckon you are probably getting as good as it gets. My only observation would be a bit of 'ghosting' just in front of the person looking down into the boat and a bit of a lack in clarity of the apex of the building behind him, but otherwise excellent

Re: What are you doing today?
I have collected all sorts of plastic bags for years, today had them out on the floor to sort to see which ones had holes in, hour and a half of boring bagging and a sack full to go to the bins. Then orange juicing, then sat outside in the sunshine reading, a cat either side. Collected a sack of sticks for the fire then watched an idiotic "survivor" man programme - he actually rock smashed his video camera to get the lens out to start a fire - - unbelievable.

Re: What are you doing today?
I decided today was the day to sort out my books, those I have read and don't want anymore, those I have read but will happily read again. The unwanted ones have gone to friends.
Sometimes looking at the title I couldn't remember if I had read it or not but a quick look at the short description on the back and it came flooding back. I wonder how many books you can actually remember.

Re: What are you doing today?
After my recent PC problem I decided to buy another external Hard drive, it should come today from Amazon via their 'Prime' service. Once it has arrived and working, I will slowly transfer (or copy) all of my saved images onto the drive and hopefully devise a system that files them with some sort of rational so that finding the one I want will be easier in the future. My system used to work but over the years it has bloated to contain many duplicates and too many sub folders that are not descriptive of the content. It is going to be a long job, but it really needs doing, once completed I will be reformatting my desktop PC and hopefully it will then run better.

Re: What are you doing today?
Quick bit of domestic chores, then almost a surfeit of Rugby. I did watch the Ireland Italy match with one eye most of the time as Italy was trounced.
Now it's just before the England Wales match - I have divided loyalities or on the other hand, My Side will win!
Hmmn and will lose of course

Split some hostas this morning, set up the new (third) trail cam, and am now sitting at the other end of the lounge waiting for the rugby to get started. Mrs G has just joined with the Welsh anthem, me with our anthem. Who wil be cheering in a couple of hours? Me Me Me of course........Come on England

Re: What are you doing today?
Wow! That was a finish and Wales almost did it playing the last 10 minutes with real passion.
But well done England, Triple Crown winners

Re: What are you doing today?
Yup, England won, but I'm not happy. The England Number 3 was lucky to play for so long before he got his yellow card, bit of a thug.
It was obvious before half time that Wales hadn't fielded a team. Seemed hard to believe that they were the same side that did so well earlier in the competition. If the same team members which played for the last 15 minutes had been there at the beginning Wales would have won
But admin made a mistake, so England won by default, but that's life, so congratulations England.

Nothing special today, my daughter should visit so depending on how long she stays I may get to take Annie out for a walk. Otherwise it will be more messing with the PC to get it all sorted and back to normal again

Re: What are you doing today?
Really bright and sunny this morning although with a keen breeze it was rather chilly. Needed some fresh air so ran (in the car of course
) up to Whitstable for a walk along the beach path. It really was quite cold but so nice to see a big blue sky. The tide was right out so the little fishing boats in the harbour were sitting well down at the harbour wall. At the yacht club all the small sailing boats had their covers on, no doubt they would be going down to the water when the tide rose.
There are several little shacks along the beach walk and we stopped at the one that offered a free doughnut with your coffee. Smart marketing and the coffee was very good too.
A few pics......

At least you got out in the sunshine Grandad even if it was a bit chilly and the donut and coffee sounds good

I've been fighting 'the beast' a bit more today, but this afternoon I have cooked steak, mash and greens for dinner, with a bread and butter pudding to follow. This evening I get total control of the TV remote because Mr RS is out at a club meeting, so I will be watching a whole two hours of TV!

Re: What are you doing today?
Will that include The Night Manager RS ? We will watch that and record Indian Summers, and save that for a 'dead' TV hour later on.Ruby Slippers wrote:This evening I get total control of the TV remote because Mr RS is out at a club meeting, so I will be watching a whole two hours of TV!

Re: What are you doing today?
What a lovely day - turned off the heating and opened the windows upstairs for a blow through.
When we had the storms a couple of weeks ago, I put my trough complete with the remaining geraniums into one of the new nearly clear plastic bin bags. not only alive, but one that hadn't got any leave left has tiny shoots coming!
I'm now trying to sort out why I can't have assets for a game I play delivered by Amazon, on my Kindle Fire, even though I had been getting them for the last 6 months without a problem and I can order goods from the Amazon shop and they are delivered.
Amazon so far insists that there is a problem with the card or address details - yet they are auto-saved so I just press the same button each time. It's very irritating.
