Just to make you folks aware that it is illegal to steal someones pictures and use them elsewhere without permission, so you should always be careful where or what you re post. OK we all 'borrow' the odd image we like, but they should only be used on a personal basis for those reasons. Every image carries information within the image file and they can be tracked by software that shows the owner exactly where his/her images are being displayed elsewhere on the web. I know quite a few photographers who get very irate about their images being used without permission, even at our level of photography. They can of course ask you to remove or pay for the use of their images as they are intellectual copyright of the owner. That does not stop you providing to go about it the right way, for example if you use another image found elsewhere and it forms part of say an educational article similar to some of the stories that we may post on here about our days out or places we have visited, then we may claim that it was used under 'creative commons' and as such we were not intending to exploit the image. However they can still request that the image is removed, but it is unlikely that you could be prosecuted for copyright theft. To be on the safe side only use your own images or if they are from another source, such as a museum site or a web page, them give a 'credited to' the source of the image. :up

Jay, I do admit to being a dunce when it comes to setting preferences on FB but what I have said is how I understand it. And from what I receive from people far and wide that I certainly don't know, that seems to be the case. I don't really understand the timeline thing but have never checked it out. Perhaps I will...

Jay, my only interest in FB is to keep up to date with my small circle of friends and their families. To 'unfollow' seems to defeat the object of FB to me. What I want is a way to block 'liked' and automatically forwarded posts. :xx

If you follow someone you will receive all their likes. You cant have it both ways Grandad. If you want to see what your friends are doing, go to their pages, you can comment and like there if you want, or message to them on the chat.
