WOO HOO! Our Canadian Bianca Andreescu has now made Canadian Tennis history as she is moving on to the US Open Final where she'll face Serena Williams tomorrow.
She is only 19 yrs old and is the very first Canadian to ever make it this far.

Re: US Open Tennis
Sorry no comment as I am not a tennis fan, but if it had been Mrs H, now that would have been a different matter.

Re: US Open Tennis
I don't follow any sport until it reaches the final stages or count down or play off either
I have heard of Bianca's name before so it caught my attention this morning (course it only caught my attention as our News media is going crazy touting her name!) and since Tennis does seem to be a sport with a sizeable following I mentioned it plus the Twins were out for an initial introduction to Tennis this past summer and seemed to like it. Definitely hope they do as I've bought them each a tennis racquet as a Christmas (or maybe their birthday since it is January) present for this year.

Re: US Open Tennis
Yes she did win and congrats Bianca.
But can you believe that our very unpopular Duchess of Sussex flew to New York just to watch her friend Serena play. No doubt 'protection squad' officers also had to travel with her.

Still doesn't do anything for her and her husbands carbon footprint Kiya. But I am forgetting, she is now a 'Royal' so things like the environment are other peoples concerns.

Re: US Open Tennis
I'm happy Bianca won if for no other reason than to put a new face and new challenger onto the Tennis scene (not that Serena wasn't an excellent player and did extremely well for years).
The only example the 'new' Royal, like our own Prime Minister who jets about the country (he is often on the west coast of the Island to surf the waves then back to the east coast to his home) extolling carbon tax issues and how "WE" all have to cut down is one of personal benefit. They're doing what they want whist trying to make the rest of us live differently.

And for what it is worth I just instinctively don't like the Duchess of Sussex. Can't put my finger on why not (not that I lose sleep thinking about this) but she just isn't the type of person I'd care to know.

Re: US Open Tennis
AND now the fight is on "Is Bianca really Canadian or Romanian?" as I guess she was born there but came to Canada........GEEZ - nothing is ever simple anymore these days.
