Re: KIYA LAS VEGAS
I don't think I've ever been in a Madam Tussaud's Museum (other than on TV and from other people's photos) however it would be super interesting to see the real life size images. I particularly like Liberace. I used to like his TV show and all his over the top costumes and pianos. Quite a flamboyant character - loved his piano playing too. Also use to like Victor Borge and his piano playing although at times he constant fumbling went so long it started to annoy me.
As a piece of trivia the hotel I was just at in Mexico had down a hallway a display of one of Elton John's 'over the top' costumes. Ostrich feathered hats & sequins.

Re: KIYA LAS VEGAS
They are SO realistic. I have not been to Tussauds in London for many many years and I don't remember the models being displayed as in your pictures Kiya. Those settings are really good.....

23.1.19 THE MOB MUSEUM DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS
These bullets are the actual bullets taken from members of the mob after being killed.
The electric chair was quite scary when you hear the actual sound when the chair is in use
At the end of the museum was a nice bar which we stopped at for a drink, this photo is of the bar made of glass and showing the gun inside

That is certainly a museum of more interest to me than the 'bodies' Kiya.
What a brutal lot they were, I do like those weapons though

Yes they were.....photo 9 was a bomb planted under the driver's seat, as you'll know it went off soon as he started the engine, killing a mob member..... and photo 10 is the murder of " Bugsy " Siegel , if I remember right there is a photo of Roy with him in my photos of Madame Tussauds above.

23.1.19 T - MOBILE ARENA, VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS v NASHVILLE PREDATORS
I have to say I did not like being in here, being someone who does not like heights we were seated way up in the heavens, when standing there was nothing to hold on to and when seated my feet were level to the person in front shoulders.....scary for me.
Also when the drums were beating and music so loud it was deafening , you can actually feel the beats across your chest, thinking it was only me but no Roy was feeling it too.
Some random photos from outside This was a lovely water fall over a low down wall And showing all the traffic lanes from one of the many bridges Excalibur seen better at night time

Re: KIYA LAS VEGAS
Ah yes Kiya. I just had another look and I must confess that on first viewing I took it that the other model was an associate of Bugsy
Didn't recognise Roy, has he lost a little weight ? He is looking very dapper

Re: KIYA LAS VEGAS
Definitely interesting photos! Las Vegas is definitely a really 'over the top' place built for tourists to be amused and to spend as much $$$ as possible.
That was definitely one large stadium too. Even the little one we have here has no rails or nothing to hold onto. I don't like that as I like to hang onto railings as I'm going up and down.
I never got to the Mob Museum but would have been interesting to see.

@ Grandad...No Roy hasn't lost weight, wish he would he's piling it on .......loves his chocolate too much
@ LLL ...Yes very much over the top, I'm not sure what was best to look at, outside or inside the hotel/casinos but both very colourful.
I was careful with my dollars, any time I put a dollar on and got back anything above 20 dollars I cashed out, cant say the same for Roy though
That T-Mobile arena held 15,00 people.

Re: KIYA LAS VEGAS
24.1.19 THE HIGH ROLLER... at 550ft high it is the highest ferris wheel to date, excuse the reflection from glass.
Roy not resisting a beer Half way up Views from the top
On the evening same day we went to THE DAVID COPPERFIELD show, it was amazing, near the end of the show he asked us all to look at the roof, looks like any other roof to a hall/theatre but there was a white cross in the middle, he asked us all to keep looking at the centre of the cross , after short time a massive spaceship appeared hovering over us with lights etc flashing and if it came any lower to us we would have been able to touch it, as I said it was amazing, the only downfall no cameras or mobiles allowed.
The only photo I have was before the show started, why in USA do they make drinks so large, I swear this was more vodka than coke
The next few days I've no photos, that was when I first fell ill, next photos will be on the

Re: KIYA LAS VEGAS
Your cityscape/landscape photos are fantastic Kiya! Lovely and they, for sure, definitely give a terrific overview of Las Vegas.
Compared to Canada ALL drinks & meals in the USA are huge. Probably why obesity is such a problem there (not that it isn't an issue here but IMO not as much as there).
I'd LOVE to see a David Copperfield show. Not that I'm a fan of magic per se however I think to see what he is doing is definitely super complex & intricate and well beyond anything I could ever do.

I thought the London Eye was high, that one surely beats it. What great views and fantastic pictures.
Kiya, don't tell me you missed out on the sky dive? We were all looking forward to that????

Grandad ...Yes it was high and for someone that doesn't like heights even though I was inside it was still scary, all the glass around us made it look though there was nothing between us and the outside
Yes the sky jump was cancelled, being so breathless I wasn't taken any chances, but ever another chance I would do it if health ok

29.1.19 LUXOR HOTEL/CASINO
We had nothing booked at the Luxor, but thought you would like to see some pics of inside, I tried to take and to show you how it was built.
The first photo I took from the internet showing the laser beam, when we were airborne we could see this beam from the plane and also can be seen from space.
At the entrance too pretty not to take.
Outside
30.1.19 to be cont

Re: KIYA LAS VEGAS
Not really my thing Kiya. IMO animals should be left in their natural habitat. I can accept animals being kept enclosed for breeding programs for endangered species but even then I question if such, very expensive , programs really have any effect on the declining species. We should do more about the reasons for decline, all man made.
The dolphins? I prefer to see them from a small boat when they will come and play but they have the option not to if they so wish.
Sorry but we should have moved on from captive wild animals and freak shows

Re: KIYA LAS VEGAS
Great photos and the orange tigers are beautiful. Much more stunning than the white ones. Am sure the white are impressive in their own way I just relate more to the orange ones and definitely the lion always looks very magestic.
Those two - Seigfried and Roy used to have an Act that involved the tigers and big cats. Their act when on for years and years until suddenly one of the (I think it was tiger) attacked Roy on stage. He as seriously hurt and that ended their acting. It is my understanding that they actually bred some of the tigers used in their act in captivity. I don't have any history as to how they initially acquired their big cats but I do believe and I might be wrong that they have a reserve somewhere that the animals can live more naturally. They do however periodically 'show' their cats in a zoo type format.
I never knew they also had dolphins or any type of aquarium set up but could be after their actual Las Vegas Strip Act was shut down they moved to the format you went to.
I do overall agree with Grandad that it is better to see animals in the wild and in a natural environment. Sad thing is their natural habitats are fast disappearing. Here we are now constantly on cougar watch as we're eroding their territory. Sadly they lose IF they end up getting too close.
I hope Seigfried & Roy have their tigers as part of a breeding program so that there is a supply of tiger babies to be returned to the wild.
