Joe vs Jose

Joe vs Jose...

THE BELOW IS A PERFECT AND TOTALLY TRANSPARENT EXAMPLE OF WHAT LAWYER-POLITICIANS IN THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES HAVE DONE. AND ARE STILL DOING.
( and they call themselves ‘great Americans’)

There are two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California ..

Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".

Ready? Now pay attention....

Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.

Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.0 0 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics and emergency hospitals at a cost of $0.00 per year... Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare.

Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps, WIC and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has 9,631 00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month Federal Rent Subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for car insurance. Some of that is uninsured motorist insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.

Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc..

Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline and what he sends out of the country every month..

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same elementary school.
Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches, while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch.

Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.

Now, when they reach college age, Joe Legal's kids may not get into a State School and may not qualify for scholarships, grants or other tuition help, even though Joe has been paying for State Schools through his taxes, while Jose Illegal's kids "go to the head of the class" because they are a minority.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Do you get it, now?

Same the world over, LLL. Immigrants into this country get treated in a similar manner and are promptly put into state funded accommodation and given financial benefit and they are not working.
Conversely, UK families that ARE working, albeit on low income, have been entitled to a range of state benefits. In their wisdom the government decided to combine all the individual benefits into one benefit, Universal Credit. This has been a total c*ck up with genuine claimants losing out although they ARE in work.
Claimants became guinea pigs of the scheme and as a result of the poorly thought out plan, the introduction has had to be delayed until after 'trials' in selected areas.
The immigrants are immune from this and it is the honest working families that are affected. As an example, under the old scheme you could only claim child benefit for the first two children. That still applies under the new UC scheme BUT if you adopt additional children you can claim benefit for them? Whereas a family with more than two of their own children can only claim for the first two.
On the one hand you can see why the EU referendum was won largely as a rebellion against the level into 'soft touch UK'. On the other hand you can understand how the government is SO incapable of gocverning fairly and why the Brexit deal is such a mess.
And I am a Conservative :?:

It is the same in Canada. Our PM is actively bringing in mega immigrants and they're all getting housed and basically all the $$ and everything they need whilst Canadians are living homeless. It is totally crazy what is going on and people are getting depressed, angry. All in all it is getting real bad and getting that way fast.

On another note - talking about change and I've read nothing myself but a friend sent me an email that the Pope has signed an agreement with an Imam saying we need 1 world religious order (or something like that) ...... (couldn't get the article to download here and have no other info but it seems a ridiculously huge step if it is true). I do recall seeing on the News though that the Pope IS in the Middle east.

LLL, our Secretary of State for Work and Pensions who is responsible for this new Universal Credit, admitted in the commons yesterday that "Botched roll-out of Universal Credit DID drive more benefits claimants to use food banks" and MANY of those are people actually in low paid work whose benefits have been adversely affected by this ill thought out new scheme :(
I sometimes think the country would be better run by top leaders of industry and commerce rather than the jumped up politicians, many of whom have no experience of the lot of the common man and many have never had a job with real responsibility and accountability. Just in it for their own personal ego. :xx

End of Tuesday morning rant......now off to join the Liberal Party

That is what I hoped for out of Trump. I was hoping as a business man he would put in business systems based on cost savings, best business practice models. Most Politicians do not have a clue (business-wise) and IMO often make iffy schemes worse.
