What's on your desktop?
When we had some snow last week I changed my wallpaper to this snowy scene outside the front of my home.
The snow has now gone and I wanted a happier scene with plenty of room for shortcut icons. I chose this one which takes me back to a 3 week visit to Thailand in January 2000. This is Tongai the hotel elephant.
What have you got on your desktop and why?

Mine offers random changes, if I want to change I can or keep any I like which pleases me.

Re: What's on your desktop?
I tend to keep the basic Blue Windows screen because I have to confess that there is so much clutter on my desktop I need all the space I can get

I hate a lot of stuff on the desk top so I try hard not to have anything except on the taskbar and that's not much.

Re: What's on your desktop?
I need a desktop with plenty clear space. I drop anything there that I need quick access to like pictures, letters, calendar etc. Then when I have finished with them I either delete or move into a permanent file. It is like a temporary holding bay. I hardly use the task bar.....

I use the task bar all the time and never keep anything on my desk top. The photo I have on there is quite plain and mundane - the swamp

My Welsh relations are quite distant, Irish is pretty strong both sides. Actually Ancestry is on my desktop at the moment, though I haven't done any searching for too long.

Re: What's on your desktop?
In saying I don't use the Taskbar I was meaning the bottom bar, perhaps that is a toolbar? I use the top 'Taskbar' for the frequent internet links like E4U, My bank, etc
Shortcuts on the desktop are for files, programs, etc that are stored on the HD. It is a bit cluttered with things like photo editors but I leave them there for convenience.
