Morsi backs down
So it looks like President Morsi has rescinded his earlier decree giving himself ultimate power. A very clever move on his part, make an outrageous proposal then back down on it, that way the other agenda gets passed with no real opposition to it. Although it is interesting that the military says that both parties get together and talk or they may have to step in and guess what happens? He backs down. Or at least something that looks like a climb down, however the vote on the mainly MB written constitution will still be going ahead on December 15th and once that is passed all bets will be off as he wont need to make any more decrees giving himself absolute power because he will already have it, my bets are still on the army stepping in, probably mid February.

Re: Morsi backs down
Almost seems too easy doesn't it. Make a huge proclamation, take absolute power and then back down on it......Hmmm.......
This is not the end of the story, probably not even half way through the book.

You may well be right Keefy, you are on the ground so to speak so can judge the mood better, I am just going off what I see and read and then factor in the usual outcome of such events.
