A view of parenting
Dirty dishes prove I feed my family........ Full trash can means I clean up after them......... Messy floors mean I let my child have fun........... Pile of unfolded laundry means I keep my family in clean clothes.............. Wet bathroom means my kid took a bath! So the next time you walk into my house and see a "mess" think twice before you judge. If you come over to see us, come on in...if you're coming over to see my house please make an appointment. Keep this going if you're a parent

Awww shucks - my life sure isn't wasted then!!
I wonder if the corollary is true - the messier means the more fulfulled?
There is a program on TV here called "Hoarders" which shows what happens when people keep 'everything' + collections + multi pets + unimagineably stuff in their home to the point it becomes totally unsanitary and unliveable.
Unfortunately during my work career I've actually, first hand, seen these living situations. The trick I used (other than wearing a mask) was to put Vick's Vapo Rub on a kleenex that I could hold under my nose. It really is a serious mental illness and it is amazing that these people cannot 'see' that what they have IS going to kill them. Very debilitating disease. Fascinating to see but very difficult to treat and get and handle on it.
