Afraid that I can't help on this one Kiya, although I suspect that they are some sort of houseplant similar to Bromeliads, perhaps someone else has more knowledge of what they may be.
Geezzzz! this is proving difficult, I have friends on FB also trying to find out what these flowers are.
I've searched images on the website for A W Gardens but couldn't find any.
I may have to go back to A W G for more photos & enquire what these are.
Thanks Horus, I'll do a search on Bromeliads & see if its anything similar to mine.
Horus your right how clever you are! this was just confirmed from a friend on FB after searching all aftn to find it.

This is a Bromeliad (Aechmea) Vibrant red-stemmed, purple-flower
Bromeliads are members of a plant family known as Bromeliaceae (bro-meh-lee-AH-say-eye). The family contains over 3000 described species in approximately 56 genera. The most well known bromeliad is the pineapple.
I've seen these plants growing in Hawaii but know them only as Bromeliads. I've seen the second one sometimes in florists and at garden centres but again they only refer to them here as Bromeliads.
About the only tidbit of knowledge I know about a Bromeliad is that it usually holds water in its centre. This can actually create an entire little microcosm of life in the centre of the plant.
Another tidbit I know is that there a lots of different varieties of pineapple. For years I only thought there was one cause that is all I ever saw in the stores but since traveling to Hawaii have come to know there are many many varieties.
Thank you both for your info, I'd no idea what they were when I took photos only the colour of No 1 caught my attention & when your with family they don't realise the patience you we need for a good photo
Almost every year I grow an amaryllis at Christmas and then try to regrow them and never have any luck so am determined this year not to succumb and buy one.
I'm thinking hyacinth instead. I'm...

;) That is too simple a solution. I'd rather whine, moan and groan about it and then drive myself crazy trying to grow it the next year.
I went over to garden centre this morning and the amaryllis...
Spring Flowers
Nice bright morning so I went along to the village to see what spring flowers are around. I switched on my tracker app which recorded total distance 1.48 miles so you will see that...

Can't say I've ever seen or even heard of that game but sounds like an interesting way to pass the time.
Well first of all thanks very much for those of you who commented that you would like to see some photos of my Amaryllis flowers set against a black background. This got my photography creative...

Thanks Kiya :up
Glad that sorted your problem out, often when you get white boxes it is because your Graphics card is struggling to load the image, not because it is faulty, but rather that the...
