Moon Shot

Post by LovelyLadyLux »

I took this photo of the moon from the Ferry Tarmac while I was waiting to catch the morning ferry back here from the island. It seemed easy to take it in daylight. Haven't mastered a night time shot yet that has actually turned out.

I think I read in the newspaper today (or maybe it was yesterday) that today the Moon is the closest to earth it will be for 18 years.

I'm wishing the cloud cover would blow off so I can hopefully get outside and get some photos.....course - since I didn't see the sun today I dunno why I'm thinking I'm gonna see the moon.

After getting the tip off from BigKen, I nipped outside to try and get a few pictures, it is very clear at the moment and the moon is extremely bright. :)

Here is one of them.

Nothing wrong with that shot Kiya, it seems to have all the details, a closer crop would bring it out better. :)

Another nice photo BK :) good detail and a little cropping would bring it out more. :)
But don't you just wish it would turn round a bit so we could all get different pictures?

I am really jealous of all you folks further up country....but today we have sunshine and, who knows, it might stay clear this evening. :)

Great pictures all of you :) It is such a difficult subject when it is SO bright :)

Edit:
PS. Are any of you using ND filters to get those shots? And what sort of settings are you using? Moon rises here at 4.56pm so I shall be looking out and hoping to get something.....it would be a first because I have never had much success with moon shots. :(

They're being spoil sports Granda but if I get a good picture tonight I'll let you know the settings - going to start off with the extended digital zoom x 85 just to see what I get.

Such a pity about the HUGE SCARAB - does it have to be so BIG over all the pictures ? ? ?
