Can you remember?

Post by Mimimay »

As this thread had gone seriously off topic with all your reminiscing about old TV programmes.
I have split the thread at this point where Bearded Brian had just asked Mimimay if she remembered the Daktari program on the Telly, so carry on with your old TV favourites. :) :)

Oh Brian ! Do I remember Daktari ! That's the programme which first made me want to go to Africa ! I LOVED it when I was small, I was obsessed with it actually if you ask my family !Clarence the cross eyed lion and there was a monkey I think but can't remember his name ???????
I wanted to go and work with animals in Africa from the first time I saw it at probably 5 years old
then a few years later we watched Born Free at my secondary school. Well it made me cry so much I couldn't finish the film  but I still held this dream that I wanted to be that Adams woman
I never lost the dream but life got in the way and I drifted in to some other existence which is a whole new story but !!! and this is the good bit ! When I did eventually go I realised that I was right when I was five years old and that is where I belonged. All my life wasted here and there and I was too stupid or misguided or unlucky or whatever it was that made me not go before, Unbeleivable but true. There's a leesson in there I think somewhere........follow your dreams guys, before it's too late :(
You see I'm passionate about it all over again !

Just thought, was it Judy ? the chimp ?

Aw come on! Skippy?
All he did was to hop up to the little boy, sit and lick his paw and make some little "Tsch Tsch" noises :) then the little lad would say something like:

"What's that Skippy? Dad was out at the old abandoned mine and he has fallen down a dissused shaft and broken his leg?" "You run home and tell Mum to bring the Diggeridoo and a Wombat poultice" and Skippy would hop off again. :P :P
