The varying cost of holiday food

Post by Horus »

For general information and translating local currency for £ Sterling

In Jamaica you can get a Steak & Kidney Pie for £1.75
A Chicken & Mushroom Pie for £1.65
An Apple Pie for £2.15

In St Kitts and Nevis a Steak & Kidney Pie will cost you £2
A Chicken Pie (without mushrooms) is £1.70
A Cherry Pie can be yours for £1.95

In Trinidad and Tobago that same Steak & Kidney Pie comes in at £2.50
But you can get two for £3.50 while the Chicken & Mushroom Pie is £2.25 or two for £3.25

They also offer Meat & Potato Pies for £2 or two for £3
Their Apple and Cherry Pies are often sold for £2.75 each or two (any combination) for £4.75

Those are the Pie Rates of the Caribbean ;)

Interesting info H .......... BUT ....... In Trinidad I've never seen a steak and kidney pie EVER! ;) Curry maybe and "Doubles" are on the street for next to nothing but they don't eat "steak" or "kidney" as the majority of the population is Hindu followed by Muslim.

The Golden Arches tried it there but went broke as nobody was buying their meat products. The only fast food that has survived is Kentucky Fried Chicken and it is definitely NOT the KFC flavour that is in the USA. Hot and SPICEY!!
