A lovely surprise
Last summer when I started trying to restore some sense of order to the new garden I unearthed a small black stump about 5cm tall, swamped by weeds & bamboo. On impulse I decided to clear round it & feed it with some compost & water. Yesterday I noticed this little beauty with 2 flowers. Each rose petal has a slightly pink tinge round the edge & there is a faint scent.

Re: A lovely surprise
I agree with the others, well done! It's a simple pleasure to bring a plant back from the brink but one of the best.
Smile! It confuses people

Re: A lovely surprise
So unexpected to see it, it is only small and fairly well hidden by other plants and I only saw the buds the day before when I watered. Hopefully it will continue to grow and be more obvious next year. I was just so pleased I had to share it
