This gets you This
The social event of the season was yesterday - a Birthday Party - the granddaughter turned 5!
She loves parties, got to wear a party 'gown' and clip on 'earrings' with nail polish, jewels and what she refers to as her "ball gown."
When cake time is announced we get this face
The actually appearance of this....her most beloved character in the entire world is Skye of Paw Patrol (cartoon) fame so the appearance of this
Gets you this face and HIGH excitement when she sees that her cake is Paw Patrol with Skye
which ultimately results in this

She is such a cutie LLL. I have three grand daughters and well remember when they were that age. They grow up so quickly, mine are all now early twenties.

She is now 5 going on 25! She is quite strong willed and strong minded. They twins are very different and easily bribed! Not her. OMG she can be determined and nothing is going to shake that either but is also cute and sweet.

Re: This gets you This
She is definitely a character. She has started to learn to play the piano and LOVES to play the songs she has learned so far
She is also enrolled in Highland Dancing and OMG the fingers, feet, legs and arms all fly at once! She tried ballet and while she like it she is over the moon with Highland Dancing. Again doesn't hesitate a beat to perform
And this is her Hubba Hubba Dance in her Lady Policeman outfit. She decided to call it her Hubba Hubba Dance (no idea where she got the name from) but it is her own version of a different type of dance.

Re: This gets you This
@Kiya - when I was a child I used to get kilts regularly from Scotland. I wore them to school probably once or twice a week. Love them but being real wool they were warm!
The Granddaughter loves dancing. She did a couple sessions of ballet and like it until Highland Dancing came along. It is much more dynamic than ballet and truth be told even if she loved ballet she was born too big! Her mom is just a hair shy of 6' tall as is her dad so she is just going to be too tall Same with her mom who loved to dance and took lessons as a child. She was one of the tallest girl dancers in the class and no hope the Studio would have ever found a male dance partner she didn't tower over.
All three grandkids love to perform and they're not shy about performing to anybody and everybody. Right now the twins entered themselves into their school's talent show. They passed two auditions and are all set to sing + their own gyrations. The show is April 14th. Will be there to see it.

I was in kilts all through my primary days at school, your grand daughter would be a right bobby dazzler in the kilt

Re: This gets you This
I've still got two beautiful kilts in my wardrobe which I bought in 1986, from the Edinburgh wool shop. I will have to dig them out and see if they still fit me. If not, maybe I can alter them. Should be a simple enough job.

Long wool kilts are decadently warm and comfortable and topped off with a cable knit wool sweater - PERFECT!

I've got a few cable knit jumpers too! All hand knitted. They're 32 years old now, and I still wear them when the weather is bad. They never date or wear out.
