What a shock!

Post by Ruby Slippers »

I didn't get a chance to look in here or the blue side yesterday, so imagine the shock I felt this morning to read of the sudden death of Bombay (Russell)! I'm sure his demise will change the face of Luxor, insofar as the choice of restaurants is concerned. I know he weathered the various financial storms in Egypt and managed to still retain a lot of his staff, and he was looking forward to opening his new restaurant next month. He will be missed for a lot of reasons by a lot of people. R.I.P Bombay.

Yes it was very sad news and quite a shock, who knows if the pressure of trying to maintain and improve his restaurants under such difficult conditions contributed to his early death. He was certainly a good advocate for Luxor and one has to wonder what will happen to his current ventures and of course the staff that he employed as their lives too must have come to an abrupt halt on hearing such bad news. :(

I didn't know him personally but we had many mutual friends. He was well respected and will be very much missed. R.I.P.

I didn't know him either nor had we visited his restaurant but I enjoyed reading his posts. RIP Bombay.

I joined the Blue Side in 2006 and looking back it is a sobering thought to think of all those members that are no longer with us. All missed because they were a bunch of varied personalities. RIP to them all.........

I haven't been to the Blue for a few days so didn't realize Bombay is no longer with us. Didn't know him but he seemed a reasonable sort. Am sure his passing will impact Luxor greatly.
