@ Grandad, your setup sounds pretty up to date, I only changed mine because size and technology were lagging behind with my old setup I had, so a bit of 'future proofing' was in order with the new purchase.
@ Robbo, did you have to do any faffing about to set it up or was it simple shove 1 in a socket near your router and plug in another ethernet cable, then just plug the other unit into a suitable 13 amp socket in another room?
Also what make and model is the one you have? For some reason parts of my home seem to be internet dead spots where my Wi-Fi is concerned.
I have a TP-LINK single unit that my mate gave me, but the setup seems a real pain in the arse, the PDF instructions run to about 40 pages.

I'd like to know make and model too. My walls are drywall (plaster board covered with paper) but the house is on a hill and there are a few dead spots so if it IS as simple as plugging in something and connecting a wire I'd like to give it a try. I've never heard of this before but it seems to be a darn good solution to eliminating dead spots and boosting performance everywhere.
