The 'C' Word

Post by Grandad »

Did anyone watch this 90 minute drama on BBC last evening about the young woman, Lisa Lynch, who had breast cancer and wrote a blog through here exoeriences before she died in March 2013.
Sheridan Smith, who I believe was a friend of Lisas, played the lead role to perfection, even to the extent of having her own hair shaved to make her role more authentic. Sheridan is a brilliant young actor and I would hope that this role will win her acclaim in the TV awards. Brilliant. :up

I caught up with it on iPlayer this afternoon, Grandad, and I agree with you wholeheartedly! :up I must admit, one scene took me back a few years to when my son was going through chemo and his hair was on the pillow in clumps. He asked me to shave his head, so I got the clippers out but I was crying too hard to do it! I don't know why, because his hair wasn't particularly beautiful or long but..........! Anyway, he had to wait until Dad got home, but that scene in the programme just brought it all back.

I agree that Sheridan Smith is a super actress - but I can't watch anything about this subject these days. :(
Smile! It confuses people

Me too, I tend to avoid programmes that deal with real life tragedies :(
