No not that horrible word; but CHRISTMAS
Until yesterday Christmas had not featured very much in discussions at home and, apart from displays in high street stores, it all seemed to be a slow starter.
Well, yesterday, first of December, my family seemed to realise that there is just a few weeks to go. Invitations came for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, (that's that sorted then ) Grandchildrens Christmas lists became available to peruse, and on a walk into town this morning, the Christmas Fair is up and running, and notices are posted about the Christmas Eve carol singing in the centre of town. So everything seems to have taken off since we entered December.
Anyone else noticed a change in the 'run up to Christmas' mood???
Edit: Oh yes, and these appeared on my doorstep this morning from 'The Red Bull Milkman'
I follow their F1 teams but have never tried their 'Energy Drink'. Sampled two this evening and tipped all of them down the drain. What horrible products.
It's now OK to use the 'C' word....

Re: Red Bull - never tried or tasted it but I just don't like the notion of any of the 'energy' drinks. Eat well, sleep well, be well and you don't need to be drinking artificial energy aka liquid caffeine. UGH
As for using the "c" word - it we're talking the descriptive female word - it is ugly
Re: Christmas and sellers - it has been alive and well here going strong since before Hallowe'en. I took Christmas photos yesterday of the daughters family for their annual Christmas card and this weekend they're putting up their Christmas tree. Next weekend I'll have the grandkids over and they'll put up my tree.
All the TV here is on about sales (BlackFriday) and seems it is a bit less than last year and personally I MISSED buying a new KindleFire on a super duper discounted price. Guess it was being in Canada that took my order that split second too much longer to get one before they sold out.. Was a terrific price though.
I'm adopting the use of the C word in that I'm happily announcing "Merry Christmas" to everybody and if you Happy Holiday me back I haven't quite figured out my response but I think I'm going to start challenging the why behind the non-use of the word Christmas. While it is ONLY a word it holds significant meaning to me and I'm having a hard time with the notion that I'm somehow offending somebody with a word. I can think of LOTS of other words that would offend lots more and I might just be compelled to use 'em too!
